The Recent Unpleasantness Ends Tomorrow
Senator Craig will be joining the ranks of private citizens... The "recent unpleasantness" ends until the next Repbublican official messes up...

Maybe they will make it through Labor Day...

1. Step right up, ladies and gents, and place your bets...
Labor Day? I don't know... seems they are rolling out rather regularly... just can't keep it all repressed... it oozes out sometime...

2. At Some Point They Will Become A Laughingstock
I remember an interview with William Weld during the Clinton brouhaha and he said a politician can endure any controversy but he can't endure being a joke... I wonder when the GOP reaches that point...

3. I'm sorry, but you cannot use that phrase....
"The Recent Unpleasantness'
was used to refer to the Civil War after the fact...
we in the South understand that to be an extreme form of southern gallantry
and now only use it to refer to Katrina and its aftermath

sorry

4. Perhaps all of America will be able to take a cue from Southern gentility...
... and refer to the Bush years as "the recent unpleasantness" once the regime is over.
