He rarely does Special Comments on Friday shows.

I don't think he's done a single one yet on a Friday. Lower viewership among other reasons, so I am guessing you just saw a promo for the show and his Special Comments, not necessarily that there will be one tonight.

They've never rerun an old Special Comment during a new live show.

He tends not to do Special Comments on Fridays in part because he's taken to doing the Thursday and Friday shows out of 30 Rock, where he's currently stuck using one camera in a studio the size of a broom closet. Special Comments look better on two cameras from a bit of a distance, so he has to do those out of Secaucus where the studio is bigger. (He did a Special Comment once on a Thursday, but he deliberately did the show from Secaucus that night.)

If you really saw an ad for a Special Comment tonight, then it would be a new one.

One thing's for sure: he's gotta be pleased he was at least partly responsible for getting Bill O'Reilly relieved from that National Center for Missing and Exploited Children speaking gig.
