Michael Vick should go free
For He has now found JESUS.

He is cured. Let him go. He shall attent church every Sabbath and repent to His Lord for His sins. He won't hurt any dogs now.

JESUS is by his side.

He was "immature" but now He HAS matured.

He is really a good boy.

Praise Jesus.

Michael Vick is HEALED!

10. wow that quote hit me hard just now
I have been hearing it all my life, but I never really applied it until just now, in reference to the Vick thing and some of my recent experiences. I am becoming more and more suspicious of any kind of spiritual label on anyone, if they make a point of flauting it/referring to it/whatever. I guess if someone has a spiritual thing going it will show in their life and their actions. No need to tell anyone, really.

27. You've misquoted Samuel Johnson. What he actually said was
"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

Samuel Johnson, 1775

6. last time I check the bible
Jesus was arrested, tried, convicted and served his sentence. So Jesus as an example pretty much leans on the side of Vick serving his time.

15. I love how all this works.
One day you`re slamming innocent dogs to the floor and the next day, after word gets out...Jesus appears. Just like magic.

As for Vicks` "immature" comment, I just don`t get that either.

Non-football star John Q. Smith: "I electrocuted my dog. On purpose."
Pastor Jones: "Very immature."

17. CRINGE!!!!!!
Use any religion to be absolutely shitty and/or perfectly June Allison on the the other end of the spectrum and you will find that most embrace a concept that they need most at that point in their lives. Mr.Vick obviously didn't hold true to some of the concepts of the bible before he tortured and killed innocent animals for game. He needs forgiveness as crappy and as hard as it may be...he does. His own father sat before a journalist and stated that they let him run another dog ring while he was in high school. Now his father wants him to take responsibility for what he has done. He should. But those along the way that had the chance to change the man not the ATHLETE should be held accountable as well. This is a sickness and the idol worship that we do as a society has to stop. We aren't doing anyone a favor, especially ourselves, by holding these people to a lack luster standard until they fall in public. Love yourself and try to love those around you. I think that it would make such a difference to society as a whole. This sick crap with "stars" and the way that we view them is just gross. People they fail, they use the bathroom like the rest of us. Deal with it. If this was your neighbor down the street? What would you do? Thats how I think we should handle it. Make them right the wrong if you side with it (I do) but let him live his life if he reforms. He might be a true voice of change to an otherwise silent and deadly group of people that do such cruel things to animals. I doubt it. But who knows. I can only hope that his public apology is more then just a kind gesture to save a now trashed career.

Autumn

28. Lets see. Caught red handed...check. Praised Jeebus and got born again...check. Apologized...check.
Now all he needs to do is laugh at everyone and go right back to the dog fighting thing after he gets out of jail, and he will he will be ready to pursue a career as a full fledged Bush crony after football season's over.

29. I've got one better than that. I actually heard Ed Schultz today
stating that the free market would prevail after Vick served his sentence, in relation to whether he'll be allowed back into the NFL. He likened this to O'Lielly's still having a job after his sexual harassment, settlement thingy.

Well, I venture a guess that most of O'Lielly's listeners don't give a rat's ass about sexual harrassment - just good workplace fun, don't cha know. But I guess the free market will prevail and take care of everything!!!!!! I truly didn't realize it was really that simple. :dunce:

30. I have yet
to meet a judge who does not view self-serving shit like his "finding Jesus" to be anything but further proof of a criminal's continued attempt to avoid taking responsibility for his/her actions.

I'd give him an extra year for even saying that.

And reap what he sowed.

People who have no empathy for animals won't have it for human beings.

He's psychotic.
