Here's the secret: Emotions come out as facial expressions--but the association also works backwards, and the imitation method can sometimes give you startlingly precise information about the emotions being felt by the original.

The mimicking technique is something I've been playing with for a while. I pretty much developed the idea out of the new research on mirror neurons, etc. I think that we can learn to replicate Tomkins' instinctive abilities by my imitation method. It's really interesting--try it.
