Ed Sanders: A Possible Path to force the Military Industrial Surrealist-Complex to Bring the Troops
...Home From Iraq:

A Look Back to World War II for Clues
on how to Bring the Troops Back from Iraq

Bring Our Boys Home
Late ’45-early ’46

The war caste hated to give up its

cannon fodder

Japan was defeated in August
and 12 million 300,000 men & women in uniform
were more than eager
to get back home

Wow, the nation adored them
the GI Bill of Rights awaited them
They couldn’t wait to buy bassinets
for the mystery of the baby boom
and to marvel at the chrome
on the post-war autos

The military tarried
and by the year’s close
a huge protest of troops
& loved ones at home

25,000 soldiers rallied in Manilla
after a thousands of leaflets were passed out
with the words, “The State Department
wants the army
to back up its imperialism”

Bring Our Boys Home spread to Guam & Hawaii

Frankfurt, Germany
thousands
shouted “We want to go home!”

The families of soldiers
sent booties to Congressmen
with a note, “Be a good Santa Claus
and release the fathers.”

It worked

& millions who had defeated evil
–to the wince of the war caste–
were at last allowed home

Could it work in Iraq?
