Bush's motorcade just went by. Big Deal, huh?
I don't know why he is in town today (Kansas City) except there has been a big Veteran's convention here for several days. I know that Hillary and McCain gave speeches. And Obama yesterday, I think.

I got caught in the traffic that had to wait on the motorcade. Then all thse big black cars went speeding by.

I was so excited. LOL

I wouldn't go across the street to see that man.

8. Well I saw them over in Riverside - Flying down Gateway
and they turned left on Vivion.

I guess they ate breakfast at the restaurant across the street (Corner Cafe). I have no idea where they are headed now. I think the convention is downtown.

13. You are that close to me?
I live over at Vivion and North Oak.

And how do you like what they have done to that beautiful piece of land there. Makes me heartsick.

Just what we need - another Lowes and Office Depot.

17. Remember the horses that used to graze there?
That was just the most beautiful piece of land. And now its all gone. I think it took them all of 24 hours to demolish it.

I will never forgive the Baptist Seminary for selling that land for that use.

19. Yea. There is the big cathedral on the corner.
I think that has been there as long as I have lived up here - and I moved into my house in 1980.

Vivion is kind of Church Row, isn't it. You could pick any congregation and find a church right there.

10. No. I would have flipped him the finger but he was too
far away. I just kind of saw the cars going around the corner. They had a bunch of cars in that motorcade - and some police cars and even an ambulance.

7. Bush to cite Vietnam in defense of Iraq
more history revision today in KC....

http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/asection/la-na-bushspeech22aug22,1,7259923.story?coll=la-news-a_section

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Critics of the war in Iraq who compare the conflict to Vietnam have the analogy backward, President Bush plans to tell veterans in a speech today.

In what the White House is billing as a major foreign policy address, the president will say that the lessons of Vietnam teach that the U.S. should stay in Iraq, not withdraw. Terrorists cite Vietnam to predict that the United States will run from the Iraq war, he will say.

"Here at home, some can argue our withdrawal from Vietnam carried no price to American credibility -- but the terrorists see things differently," Bush plans to tell a Veterans of Foreign Wars convention, according to speech excerpts released late Tuesday by the White House.

Bush will argue that the U.S. withdrawal from Vietnam had dire consequences for the people in that region and so would a withdrawal from Iraq.

consequences for the people of that region. They never see the irony of what they speechify.

12. I work at a high-traffic motorcade route here in Philly
I've seen every President here since and including Ford at least twice. When I had heard that they'd closed off the street for you-know-who's motorcade, I stayed upstairs. no way...no how.
