National Veterans Services Fund??
I got an interesting piece of mail today. It is from an outfit that claims to support wounded veterans and their families. The letter says:

dear friend,

If you've enjoyed some success or happiness in your life you've probably thanked your parents for raising you the "right" way. You've thanked your friends and family for their support. And, you probably patted yourself on the back for all the hard work you've done.

But have you thanked the thousands of soldiers who've defended America and your way of life? These brave soldiers have probably more to do with your success, your happiness, and your prosperity than you realized before.

where would you be today if Hitler had won World War II- if the red Chinese controlled Korea and Vietnam- if Saddam Hussein had all the oil in the mid-east- if the terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq could attack America at will?

Would we have comfortable homes and a wonderful future to offer our children and grandchildren? I don't think so.

Thats why I'm asking you to: 1) Sign and return the enclosed "thank-you card", So we can send it along with other cards to VA hospitals across the country. 2) send your gift for $10 or more to our 2007 Annual fund campaign.

So if America has been good to you- please- do your part now to say "thank you" to our brave disabled military veterans. Return your signed Card and send your gift of $10 of more today.

sincerely,
Phil Kraft,program director

P.S. If you do not plan on signing the enclosed "thank you card" please return it to us in the enclosed envelope so we can send it to someone else who would like to personally thank our disabled veterans.

------
This seems A little over the top for someone soliciting charity is this organization on the up-and-up?

1. Why do I think no vet will see a dime of that money.
Besides if you want to thank a vet, there's plenty around and you can always do some volunteer work at your local VA hospital.
