Poll question: How scared are you that the economy is imploding?

This stuff is starting to scare me. I've always thought this mountain of debt and all this off-shoring of our manufacturing was going to knock down this economic house of cards we've built. Now even the stupid stock market seems like it might be thinking this way.

1. Bush tax cuts have got to go, along with a lot of other things...

I hardly know where to begin,
but we need serious help to get through this one. The Dow is hovering around 13000? The National Deficit is even more than under Reagan-Bush, yet no one in the MSM is talking about it? Pulease!

We need more people to listen to Thom Hartmann and Mike Malloy, and return the corporate taxes to where they were under Carter, when the government got 30% of its money from corporations.

4. I don't think the question and the poll choices are really the same.

I'm not that scared that the economy is imploding - I've been anticipating it for years. And I'm convinced that we'll get as close to a second Great Depression as we can if drastic measures aren't taken soon. But, I think that we'll eventually be OK.

I don't have much to lose.Might not feel it for awhile, or it might hit tomorrow I'll never know.

I know the"civilization" party's over.Death will not be denied,nothing lasts forever. Be it cultures economic systems or life.This pyramid of lies and financial abuse cannot last forever.We do not control reality as much as we like to believe we do.Time to grow up get over ourselves and accept the damage done by insisting on a self absorbed arrogant and a bad relationship with this world and try to heal it, we cannot run forever.The debts will be paid hopefully this time by the wealthy ones costing the world the most and who are really the ones incurring the most debts.They cannot run from accountability forever.They can't lie forever.
As the empire crashes down all around me.Be it fast or slow this 'economic dream' of the robber barons will crash this world because this lie is not sustainable. It never was.
All I can do is offer all I got inside my heart to help and I can cry it as dance, song to reach the other worlds,and be beautiful as I can be about it.Dream until the hearts are desperate enough to turn away from this illusory gilded cage.

8. I think there's some risk of

panic (that I don't favor encouraging) in certain markets, which could have considerable (and unnecessarily-severe) consequences that potentially stretch (far) beyond these markets.

But there's also been a great deal of reckless economic activity, pretty-much across the board; and this will probably have negative consequences, regardless of what's done to postpone/mitigate these consequences.

However, there have already been considerable negative consequences (eg, the prices of many "essentials" have risen significantly: ie, the dollar is worth less in many areas), so it's hard to say what the necessary correction would/will be.

9. Our PHONY economy was NOT sustainable and the current meltdown is the result.

The worst is yet to come followed by a Greater Depression. Fear has NO PLACE in the current situation; drastic thoughtful change in policies, regulations, oversight and SPECIALLY LEADERSHIP is immediately necessary.

11. I'm not scared, but I see rough times ahead

I've prepared as best I can over the past several years. I've gotten rid of all my dept and downsized as much as I can. My only concern is keeping my daughter in college for her last two years. Focus, focus, focus has become my mantra.

I expect a recession but nothing as epic as a depression.
