Lebron james = sweLL guy
LeBron James, however, said he didn’t think an openly gay person could survive in the league and worried about any players who have not revealed they are gay.

“With teammates you have to be trustworthy, and if you’re gay and you’re not admitting that you are, then you are not trustworthy,” James said. “So that’s like the No. 1 thing as teammates — we all trust each other. You’ve heard of the in-room, locker room code. What happens in the locker room stays in there. It’s a trust factor,
honestly. A big trust factor.”

Injured Philadelphia Sixers forward Shavlik Randolph acknowledged it’s a new situation.

“As long as you don’t bring your gayness on me I’m fine,” Randolph said. “As far as business-wise, I’m sure I could play with him. But I think it would create a little awkwardness in the locker room.”

2. That's how a lot of heterosexual males feel.
They think every gay person want their body or want to turn them gay. :eyes:

3. When I see things like that, it makes me giggle.
That some people still talk and act like that is sad, but when it is sad that way, it is kinda funny.

16. I'll tell you what I think me means
As far as I know I'm a breeder. But since the age of 14 I've been hit on by guys countless times. As a young person I resented it, now I just take it as a compliment and forget about it. This guy probably resents that aspect of the imteraction, if such does occur.

4. The ignorance of youth
On the one hand he says an openly gay person wouldn't survive and on the other he says closeted people aren't "trustworthy". What's a gay player to do? Clearly stay closeted until you retire and hope that you don't suffer too much when you play. I can't wait until a SuperStar gets the courage to come out while they are active. Just one guy in any sport would change the world.

5. Not to mention Stephen Hunter:
"“For real? He’s gay for real?” said Philadelphia center Steven Hunter, who added he would be fine with an openly gay teammate.

“As long as he don’t make any advances toward me I’m fine with it,” he said. “As long as he came to play basketball like a man and conducted himself like a good person, I’d be fine with it.”

:puke:

13. The straight players are worried that gay players will treat them like women.
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 04:06 PM by 94114_San_Francisco
There have been gay players for decades. What the hell -- locker rooms aren't safe now that someone has come out?

Idiots.

15. I worked with a lady that was homophobic
One of our colleagues was a lesbian.
This one was always afraid that the lesbian was going to molest her in the med room if she was in there alone with her.
One of our male nurses had had enough of hearing about this and he just looked at her and told her that HE was a straight male who didn't find her attractive so what makes her think a lesbian female would find her attractive?
It was hilarious.

21. Those guys need to grow the hell up.
They probably have gay teammates now. It's statistics, more than ten guys in the room, chances are one of them is gay. If it isn't an issue now, it shouldn't be an issue when that as-yet-theoretical active player gets the nerve and comes out, either.

I didn't even need another reason to dislike him, but you have certainly provided me with one. As for Shavlik Randolph ... Hell, he went to Dook. 'Nuf said.

25. sniffa, would you please just get over it.
everyone knows that homophobia in professional team sports is an accepted lifestyle that should go on unquestioned without a challenge. we should all just ignore it and let the boys be boys. well, not the gay boys. those boys are jack nasty.
