I don't mean to rag on you but if you saw Paul on Colbert you'd have lost all respect then. His vision of government is a defense department (but no wars) and nothing else. He'd do away with social security, and everything else.

He is a first class kook.

73. actually, Huckabee has spoken in favor of expanding health care
Edited on Sat Aug-11-07 02:36 PM by Hamlette
not today but he was on some show this week saying the GOP has got to get off its high horse and start talking about taking care of people in need. He said if it doesn't, it will be the minority party forever. Words to that effect.

I thought maybe it was a Huckabee supporter.

but considering Romney is paying people to be there basically, and that Rudy, McCain, and Freddy aren't there, it's pretty meaningless.

70. Huckabee is the only decent candidate on the right
he talks about helping others (coal miners, health insurance) he is too religious for me but I don't get the impression he's phony about it or in my face about it.

I Huckabee. (Not really, but he is the best of the lot)

There was a day when he represented the majority of the GOP. He could give Hillary (or any dem) a run for their money.

I found myself agreeing with much of what he said. Not being world's policeman, remember Holocaust, the best generation is not behind us but ahead of us. Humble, hopeful message.

77. No--because he was a governor, lke Romney, he knows that
things like health care are real concerns--BUT--he truly believes we are fighting a multi-generational world war against Muslims. The religion talk should tip you off--he and Brownback sound exactly the same. He sometimes sounds reasonable, but he is SCARY.
