A little bit more on that Sergeant in uniform at Yearlykos.
The frothing right would like to think that Jon Stoltz and Wes Clark beat him with lengths of electrical cable while laughing maniacally.

"I know him directly. He is currently trying to "infiltrate the democratic party" (his words, not mine). He didn't "fight and bleed" he just served which is not shameful, but dishonorable to say he fought when he didn't. He is a civilian and he's in ROTC. He broke the law by wearing his uniform and he used it to get attention. Who is going to tell a uniformed soldier he can't speak? It's a tool of coercion. And the sad thing is I support his idea. I'm a republican. But all this does is hurt our reputation."

It could be, if the quoted post is to be believed, he is out, in college and in Rotsee, and was wearing his uniform in a more illegal manner than even Stoltz knew at the time.

It could be that this young gentleman might be playing a very dicey game.

On edit: If he is out and presenting himself in public in his old uniform, then he is putting himself in a very precarious situation.

5. Don't you fucking dare.......
clerks fight in Iraq, mechanics fight in Iraq, cooks fight in Iraq, and even us intel nerds on occasion fight in Iraq.........

Don't demean his service or his right to speak but saying he is just a "clerk"........

How pathetic can you get?

10. Nope
too busy surfing and training for Iraq........

So let me get this straight, you think that supply clerks never engage in combat in Iraq? Hell even an intel nerd like me has been in combat.......Nowhere near as much as the Combat Arms guys, but that's not the point......The point is that you are being a dick and mocking the fact that most people in Iraq do actully engage in combat, the only safe zone is the FOB and it is only relatively safe.......

How amusing to see DUers use Freeper attitudes when talking about the troops........

6. An Army nurse was buried in Arlington yesterday
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/09/AR2007080902035.html

So why shouldn't a clerk been have exposed to some terrible things? Especially when we have blue water sailors and airmen manning humvees on patrols?

I know some Vietnam Vets who say somecrazy shit, too: it doesn't mean that they weren't there, just that I disagree with them.

2. I was there for The Incident, and he just struck me as not all there.
Did he see anything in Iraq? Or was he not there at all? Hmmmm .... is right. You don't have to go to war to be not with it. But I thought he had seen bad things, even if he didn't fight.
