Travel to the September 15th demonstration in DC? "Peace Trains"?

Mr. Tesha and I would like to travel to the September 15th
anti-war/pro-impeachment deomnstration in Washington, but
I have to admit that it's getting tougher and tougher for
our old bones to make these "overnight" sort of jaunts down
to our nation's capital.

At the moment, there's no bus from our immediate area;
we're considering riding the Amtrak "red-eye" down and
the afternoon train back north (as we've done in the past),
but in the past, there have also been chartered trains
from New Haven, CT (at least to the demos down in NYC;
not sure about DC).

Does anyone know who used to organize the "Peace Trains"
and how to get in contact with them?

And, of course, feel free to use this thread to discuss
anything else about travelling to the demonstration.

3. Someone did this for a war protest a few years back, hopefully

they'll chime in soon (talking about the Peace Train from Louisiana to DC). Have you checked out the prices and times for Amtrak? Maybe you can post those results here and get a group going with you. Someone can take the La. part of the journey.

You also may want to contact UFPJ. They have organized buses to past marches.

10. I'm on the L.A. Greens mailing lists -- they generally pass along

notices from progressive groups regardless of party. If someone organizes buses, I bet they'll let me know.

They're really generous that way. :)
