Anyone know of a good response to this global warming denier bs?

http://www.dailytech.com/Blogger+finds+Y2K+bug+in+NASA+Climate+Data/article8383.htm

The writer is claiming that a Y2K error led to NASA providing incorrect data. When the correct data is applied, it shows that our warmest years took place prior to WWII, not in the 1990s and later.

1. What about all the other data?

If we agree that person is right, does that mean the polar caps will start getting bigger?

Ask that dumbass where he denies that CO2 is a greenhouse gas or if he denies that cars and powerplants produce it.

3. Just tell them that our growth rate is unsustainable. At this rate we will
be wearing gas masks in the near future. If all countries come up to our rate of consumption then the earth will surely crash and burn. Tell them that when you have to listen to the weatherman to know if you can go outside and breathe the air then we are doing something wrong.

4. Tell him to invest in property on Lohachara Island or The Maldives.
Oh, wait...

Lohachara Island is already gone.

And notice that Republican corporations are buying property under the retreating glaciers... NOT in The Maldives.

5. That global warming exists is almost univerally acknowledged
Edited on Fri Aug-10-07 09:02 AM by TechBear_Seattle
The evidence that the average temperature of the planet is increasing is overwhelming; a person would have to be both deliberately ignorant and willfully stupid to assert otherwise.

The only legitimate questions that remain are, How much of this warming is caused by humans and can anything be done to mitigate if not reverse this warming?

6. Ask him if he feels lucky. Suggestions below.
Ask him would it be better to put our population to work designing and building next generation high efficiency products and services, or stay with the status quo. Does he want the US to develop that huge breakthrough in energy efficient solar cells, or the French?

Tell him global climate change and resource depletion is a fact, we can either be part of the very lucrative solution, or go broke by being part of the problem.

7. I've finally found the perfect comeback for relatives who deny...
"I don't have to prove it to you. In a few more years Mother Nature herself will prove it to you."

10. That's been my attitude for a while.
When Senator Inhofe can't get to the Capitol without
getting his tootsies wet from the flood of the
overflowing Tidal Basin, maybe he'll finally shut
up about denying Global Climate Change.

9. The issue is GLOBAL WARMING. The data is for the 48 contiguous US states.
Edited on Fri Aug-10-07 09:40 AM by Jim__
What are the warmest years on record for the entire globe? Has that changed because of these corrections? If not, it's an interesting new fact; but, the real issue is the warmest years on record for the entire globe.
