Police in Westmoreland County are looking for the person responsible for a bizarre assault at a North Huntingdon Township sub shop over the weekend.
Police tell KDKA that a teen-age male assaulted a Subway employee with a liquid substance late Friday night. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. at the Subway on Route 30 at the top of Jacktown Hill.
The suspect ordered food at the drive-thru speaker. After receiving his order, the suspect threw a liquid substance at the employee after yelling the phrase "fire in the hole." The attendant's eyes burned for 10 to 15 minutes following the attack.
The act of throwing something into the face of food clerks is becoming a fad on internet sites such as YouTube and Ebaum's World. Police hope video surveillance of the incident can lead them to the suspect.
http://kdka.com/topstories/local_story_218132905.htmlAnyone else heard of this happening in your area? Recently we also had a young Wendy's worker punched in the face by a customer claiming she didn't say thank you to him. And in Reading just last month a 40 year old McDonald's worker was murdered at the drive-thru window.
I hope they catch any jerk who assaults one of these workers and fully prosecute them.
On edit if you watch the video at the link the cops show some of the YouTube videos of these incidents. I'm not for censorship but IMHO these videos need to be pulled.
