The veto of a transportation bill --Gov Pawlenty- Rethug
Minnesota Governor Vetoes Transportation Bill
http://www.planetizen.com/node/18910

"...Gov. Tim Pawlenty deep-sixed the bipartisan transportation bill. 'How dumb can they be?' he sneered of the lawmakers who dared approve a tax hike to fix the state's roads."

Here's more on this brilliant governor,

3. How in the hell this guy ever WON the governorship is beyond me
In his first term he did nothing but take Minnesota down. LIke most people we can't understand it. Of course we could understand how a nitwit like Bachman could win. But BOTH candidates won in the Minneapolis/St Paul area putting Phew-lenty over the top and of course it is Dipsy doodle Bachman's district. They both had a mega TV church CAMPAIGNING for them and nothing was done about it.

6. You don't seem to know what you're talking about. I live in Minnesota, the Twin Cities are BLUE.
Pawlenty has never won even 50% of the Minnesota vote. In 2002 he won with just 44% -- the rest of the vote was split between the DFL and the Independent party, who together accounted for about 54% of the non-repug votes.

In 2006 Pawlenty won with about 46% of the vote -- the vote was again split between Repugs, Dems, Greens and the Independent Party. In the final weeks of the election, a Texas repug millionaire sponsored a massive swift-boat style series of attack ads against the DFL (Dem) candidate, Mike Hatch, which eroded his support just enough to allow Pawlenty to squeak by with 46.7% of the vote compared to Hatch's 45.7%.

The Twin Cities proper are reliably Dem, it's the suburbs that are the problem. And Michele Bachman's district is NOT the Twin Cities area, she represents the 6th district -- see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:MN06_109.gif">this map :

Progressive Keith Ellison, btw, IS the representative for the Twin Cities district 5.

Please try to have your facts straight if you're going to comment on Minnesota politics.

7. Amen! He was a complete dope!!!
There's still an old sticker in the garage at my parent's house in Ohio that says "Our governor can kick your governor's ass!"

There's a slogan to be proud of...

Although we did like those checks Jesse sent out... Remember that?

From the Wikipedia entry at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Pawlenty#Transportation_and_agriculture
