Barney Frank talking with Barnacle on Hardball was super
Edited on Thu Aug-02-07 04:25 PM by eleny
In a civilized society, where we live close together in small spaces, we have to pool our resources to keep things going.

The rich can buy themselves private security but they can't buy themselves a bridge.

If we lower taxes more for the working class and raise them for the super rich, the country would be able to get things accomplished.

Edited to: Correct my mistake about lowering and raising taxes. Sorry.

1. He totally spoke for me
Sidebar: Thom Hartmann said (only half-facetiously) this morning, "I guess the rich can always buy helicopters so they won't need to use the roads or bridges ... " I'm sure there are some who actually think that way, sadly.

3. Barney Frank sounded a lot like Hartmann does most days
Thom is always talking about people throwing in together to make society work.

BF also said people want the things that taxes take care of but don't like being taxed. But if the lawmakers can demonstrate the connection of taxes to services and show results, he feels that Americans would not be so anti tax. Especially if the working/middle classes are not disproportionately taxed as we are these days.
