Did Bush get to Specter today?
Edited on Thu Jul-26-07 08:46 PM by journalist3072
So I heard on K.O. this evening that Arlen Specter was with Bush on Air Force One today.

Has anyone heard where they were traveling to today, and why?

I find it curious that the day after Specter took Bush's A.G. to task and called him out on his inconsistencies, Specter travels with Bush on Air Force One.

I would love to have been a fly on the wall of Air Force One today...wonder what sorts of things Bushie threatened Specter with to make him get back on GOP message?

11. That's the thing about secrets, as long as they're secrets...
the person in the know has the power, no matter whom they are. George Bush can still leak dirty details about whatever Specter is hiding.

Remember, the NSA has our phone records, just look what we were capable of doing with them in the DC Madam case, one Senator and one Pundit down. Get it?

2. No one has to get to Specter
He is quite capable of "caving" and reverting to a good little Republican all on his own.

3. I suspect it was
not a coincidence that he was on Air Force One today. He probably was taken along for a realignment.

15. you have to admit, he was pretty convincing at the hearing the other day, even
suggesting a special procecutor--which today he said the Dems were wrong to do.

22. No he wasn't. Not even a little bit. Not even a smidge. He does this over and over and over and...

... over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

It mighta been convincing the first couple of time in yesteryear, but not for a loooooong time has it been so. Not even fucking close.

He really should open a school up. DUers never stop falling for it.

EDIT: subject typo.

8. I suspect that he did, and hey by all past accounts it seems it wouldn't take much..
to accomplish that task... Lets face it, Arlen Specter is a wus and woofler.... He is a Republican thru and thru and woof les on every occasion... Another Repub that likes to talk the talk, but won't walk the walk at the end of the day...

10. What everyone keeps forgetting is...
Arlen Specter is best described in the same way that one repuke, in these parts, described one of our repuke freeholders:

"he's a nice enough guy, it's just that he doesn't have any principles."

14. What really pisses me off
Is the amount of money it costs to put Air Force 1 in the air. What business was Bush conducting today? Where was he going?
If he wants to threaten people can't he do it on the money we are already spending on his encroachment of the WH?
It is an insane waste of money and energy.

that Bush just happened to be going to Philly today and oh, Arlen,do you need a lift?:puke:
It was a deliberate "bumping into someone".

31. Specially Equipped 747
Running costs work out about $50K an hour, right? Not to mention support and decoy aircraft etc.

And Der PanzieFuhrer has the nerve to tell us we are adicted to oil.

There are 19 people on the Judiciary committee with Democrats holding the majority. Even if he could turn one vote, what about the other 18?

just like the JFK magic bullet and just like the
'accident' that his staff put hiring new US attorney's
without Congressional approval into the Patriot Act.

( he still has be able to trace that bullet on who did it)

Give me a break.

He probably brought Old Dick out to put the squeeze on poor little Arlen.
He caves so easily.

And hey WTF... an Air Force One ride from DC to Philly ????
Couldn't they take Acela or something?
Isn't that just a little excessive ?????
Geez they could've even taken the chopper.
But a freakin 747 for a commuter hop?????
What did that cost you and me????

30. You know, you may be right.
Specter's been pulling this kind of crap since long before Bush put away his pom poms and megaphone.

I should remind myself how vile he was with Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings, and his insane magic bullet theory.

I'll still call and harass his staffers tomorrow.
