Big Ed Schultz is ripping into Rudy...
Basically saying that the only thing that made Rudy popular was 9/11. Says Rudy is only running on 9/11 and wait until his background comes out in the primaries. None of Rudy's views will set with the Pubs, and that most NY'ers did not like Rudy. He called Guiliani "Bush II" and Rudy Bush!!1!! Rudy is the same as Bush: My way of the highway.

Go Bid Ed!!!1!!

1. 9/11 is the only reason he's running, and everyone knows it.
The mainstream media will never say that, but everyone knows it. Even supporters of the Bush Crime Family. Hell, that is *why* they support him. They love the idea of using 9/11 for political gain yet again, just like they did in NYC during the 2004 campaign.

2. I quite agree.
Rudy was SO not popular in NYC until 9/11. He was almost a joke at the time... with all of the divorce stuff, and his personal affairs splashed all over the papers...

And then there was his style of law enforcement and the means in which he "cleaned up the city."
Uggh. :puke:

4. His idea of law enforcement was the beating up and killing of
innocent minorities. His legacy of making the city safer is the result of high employment as a result of the CLINTON administration and its policies.

6. Exactly. Also, the COPS program
allowed for more police to actually be on the street.

And his draconian policies belong more at Gitmo than in the white house. Wait... I have a new job for him... Much more fitting. :grr:

9. If Bernie Kerik can't get approved, how will Guiliani
get approved?

5. IIRC, he was going so far as to have people ticketed for
sitting on a crate in front of a store (or something along those lines), along with other silly "code enforcement". A lot of people seemed to have been taking it as trying to beef up the city's coffers.

7. His only real accomplishment was getting the "squeegie guys"
off the street.

:bigdeal:

The Waxman hearing just isn't giving me the caffeine I was hoping for. I'll have to catch that later.

8. Great comment
I'm hoping for a Rudy win in the repub sweepstakes b/c the far-right hates him already as will the rest of America when his background comes out. And, as Rachel Maddow has pointed out, he's just not very pleasant looking either. In this superficial day and age, that actually matters.

14. When Big Eddie gets on a roll, he is one of the best
talk show hosts out there. I don't always agree with him, but normally he is spot on!

I didn't here him talking about the evangelist today. He must have had a field day with that one!

15. He was definitely on a roll today!
I love that big redhead in Fargo!

And yeah -- I don't agree with him all the time either ~ ...But the great thing about Eddie is that he chats live with his listeners almost monthly and you can have at him on any issue you disagree with him on!! He'll respond with an honest, open answer to any question you throw his way.

I gave him crap for jumping on Hillary's bandwagon without hearing all of the candidates out first -- and up until recently, he's been Hillary's number one supporter.

Since his last visit with Senator Obama though.. he sounds like he's found a new favorite.. LOL.

I sent an e-mail to him about a year ago letting him know I tried one of his wife's recipes he had posted on his forum and his sweetheart wife, Wendy, wrote me the most incredible e-mail..

I can see why she was such a huge influence in his life.

Rock on Eddie ~~

16. Rudy's 3rd wife might become an issue

She's been giving interviews:

(snip)

"I've always liked strong, macho men, and Rudy - I'm not saying this because he's my husband - is one of the smartest people on the planet," gushed the former Judith Nathan to Harper's Bazaar in editions due out Feb. 20.

"What people don't know is that Rudy's a very, very romantic guy. We love watching 'Sleepless in Seattle.' Can you imagine my big testosterone-factor husband doing that?"

Describing Rudy, a former federal prosecutor, as "the Energizer Bunny with no rechargeable batteries," Judi said, "One of the most remarkable things about my husband, who sleeps three or four hours a night, is his energy level and stamina.
