11. The CIA works for a shadow society called the Military-Industrial-Complex...
Military-industrial complex
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military-industrial_comple...

The term military-industrial complex (MIC) refers to a close and symbiotic relationship between a nation's armed forces, its arms industry, and associated political and commercial interests. In such a system, the military is dependent on industry to supply material and other support, while the defense industry depends on government for a steady revenue stream.

The term is most often used in reference to the United States, where it gained popularity after its use in the farewell address of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. As pejorative terms, the "MIC" or the "iron triangle" refer to an institutionalised collusion among defense contractors (industry), The Pentagon (military), and the United States government (Congress, Executive branch), as a cartel that works against the public interest, and whose motivation is profiteering.

Vietnam War-era activists referred frequently to the concept. In the late 1990s James Kurth asserted: "by the mid-1980s the term had largely fallen out of public discussion... whatever the power of arguments about the influence of the military-industrial complex on weapons procurement during the Cold War, they are much less relevant to the current era."

The expressions permanent war economy and war corporatism are related concepts that have also been used in association with this term.

6. Please...
By virtue of the fact that it is "mainstream" it is right leaning.

Get a clue people, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MAINSTREAM PRESS! There is only right wing propaganda.

13. Welcome to DU, BobRossi.
Does that mean that any story, no matter how anti-Bush, anti-Iraq, anti-corruption, is part of the vast right wing propaganda machine? If a professional journalist, even the occasional liberal one, uncovers, writes about and publishes things that make Bush look like a chimp, doesn't matter? The machine controls everything.

7. You know those funny houses where bowling balls roll uphill
and everything is weejawed?

That's DC, and with the Washington Times there skewing the balance it makes the Post LOOK like it leans left in comparison, when actually it is somewhat R leaning.

9. Their opinion matters less than their lack of ability to work
Although some are right wing, I believe many at the Post are still Left-Leaning, however they are either lazy or self-serving. They don't seek out the truth, they are willing to go for the status quo. They really don't give a damn, as long as they're well fed.

I don't care if your editorial page matches my idea of things, I want to see some reporters get out there and actually do their Goddamned job. The Post can't even cover Capitol Hill properly, and that's right under their noses.

The hell with the Post. They really make me angry sometime.

14. all mainstream media leans right.
The Post has been an important cog in the neocon media machine. It's less blatant than a fishwrap like the Wash Times. It is somewat more even-handed and less relentless than the NY Times in carrying the neocon's water (attacks on Clinton, promoting the official conpsiracy theory of 9-11, cheerleading the phony "war" on "terror" and the illegal invasion of Iraq), but it's right of center.
