Poll question: Would terrorist attack increase support for Bush or backfire?
Edited on Tue Jul-17-07 10:40 PM by yurbud
I'm not feeling in my gut what Skeletor Chertoff is, but Ron Paul and former righty Paul Craig Roberts have recently made pretty emphatic statements that the Bushies might do or allow a terrorist attack to renew support for the Iraq War and get it for the Iran slam.

If done, will it work?

1. I would like to wish differently, but I had to vote "Sort of"
Somehow, I think our media would omit the fact, if it happened, that Bush was in charge for the TWO largest attacks on American soil.

3. I had to click "other"
I had to click "other" because I just don't know. His post 9/11 popularity scared me and surprised me. I just don't know what most Americans in the middle, slight right, right and far right think. ...and I don't much trust them because they are guided by fear.

4. I was mystified by his post-9/11 popularity. He was still a mean-spirited, spoiled tard
I understood that their would and probably should have been some bipartisan slack given him, but not to the point that people were spooging over him more than FDR.

5. Are you kidding?
What's been RW mantra for 5 years?

At least the country hasn't been attacked again since 9/11.

Without that, they're NOTHING.

6. Hell yes. And if heaven forbid there is another attack, the first question
everyone should ask is, Why didn't you close out bin Laden and Al Quaeda when you had the chance instead of dicking after Saddam?

9. of course
Because he's keeping us safe from terrah by fighting 'em over there so we don't have to fight 'em over here but wait here they come... so ah see George was right, they're killers.

His supporters have brains of mush and nothing seems capable of deterring them from drinking the Kool Aid no matter how much death and destruction this jackass brings upon us.

11. Other: Depends.
IMHO, I feel it really depends on the attack and the immediate aftermath. A small attack where the suspects are quickly captured could lead to a moderate raise in popularity. However, a large scale attack, like another 9-11, would be the death knell for this administration. All of their "we are making us safer" would be out the window, as would "we are fighting them there, so we don't have to fight them here." Another large attack could also demonstrate that the war in Iraq has failed (for those who haven't been up to speed).

12. I would think that an attack here would put the whole bunch in
the crapper. What about all this 'homeland security' and wiretapping BS? Shouldn't the almighty and magnificent boosh be able to stop any so called attack? Where's the logic in letting it happen, other than for them to say na na we told you so? I know they're insane, but are they that insane? Lord, take me now....
