5. Buy
when others are selling and sell when others are buying. This is a great chance to lock in some of the gains this year (while CNBC, Paulson, Hanky Boy, and GWB hype the market).

6. Is the DOW hitting 14,000 really a good thing?
The housing market is down, wages are down, the gap between the rich and poor is expanding every day and our national debt is projected to hit $10 Trillion by 2008. When will the U.S. bubble burst? We can only expand so much.

7. I repeat, who is running this bitch up? And why?
Reeks of another pre-9/11 scenario to me. Somebody's gonna get awfully rich on selling short, whatever their scheme du'jour might be.

11. It's not a bad thing, per se
the Dow has not kept pace with inflation, so it has a long way to go before it's in dangerous speculative bubble territory. Dollars are dirt cheap right now, so people with Euros are buying up stock. Plus, the money that would have gone into real estate speculation just a few years ago doesn't have that many attractive places to go besides the market, bonds, and various PE and hedge funds (the latter being suicide for anybody not in the rich boy's club).

Just don't expect to see anything good come from it unless you're in the business of supplying the luxury market. If you sell yachts, you'll probably see an increase in business. If you sell shoes, forget it.
