Transcript - The Honourable Sinator Vitter Holds a Press Conference. God not attending.
The Honourable Sinator has seemingly had some very big fallout in his relationship with God. Before, God had forgiven him and they were still having conversations. Now, he is less certain that God is on his side, only beleiving he has been forgiven.

What did God tell Vitter and when did God say it? Did God spank diaper boy this week?

Transcript - Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) Holds a Press Conference in Metairie, La.
(Speakers: Sen. Vitter and Wendy Vitter)

SEN. VITTER: Good afternoon.

Last week, Wendy and I thought it was very important to have some time alone with our children...

Wendy and I dealt with this personally several years ago. I confronted it in confession and marriage counseling. I believe I received forgiveness from God. I know I did from Wendy, and we put it behind us. ....

Unfortunately, my admission has encouraged some long-time political enemies and those hoping to profit from the situation to spread falsehoods too, like those New Orleans stories in recent reporting. Those stories are not true. ... Now, having said all of this, I'm not going to answer endless questions about it all over again and again and again and again.

===========================

So, are we even being told what is being denied, except some vague "falsehoods"?

1. I don't have all the facts, but my "gut feeling" tells me he is lying
about NOT having a prostitute in NO also. So even in the midst of his confession, he lies again. Does anyone have the facts of his relationship (heard here on DU) with the gal in NO?

5. All he says is that the falsehoods are untrue. NOTHING MORE. No lie in that one!
"...my admission has encouraged some long-time political enemies and those hoping to profit from the situation to spread falsehoods too, like those New Orleans stories in recent reporting. Those stories are not true."

"Falsehoods are untrue." The Sinator. He should know!

He did not deny having diapers or frequenting whores. This is a classic parsing of words to say nothing, the perfect setup for talking point #1, "He denied "it." However, he only said falsehoods are untrue.

.... Vitter (R-LA) is losing the support of his base.

Arguing for "intellectual consistency," the Louisiana-based group 'Christian Conservatives for Reform' have called on Senator Vitter to resign following revelations of his numerous trysts with DC escorts and frequent patronage of brothels.

The Rev. Grant Storms explained that, "when Bill Clinton fell...we said 'resign', when William Jefferson was indicted we said 'resign', now it's one of our people, and we need to be consistent and say, 'David, do the right thing and resign.'"

Alleged D.C. Madam Calls Senator Vitter "Hypocrite"
http://www.insideedition.com/ourstories/inside_stories/story.aspx?storyid=856

The alleged D.C. Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey spoke out in an exclusive interview with INSIDE EDITION. The so-called D.C. Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey, minced no words in telling INSIDE EDITION what she thinks of Louisiana Senator David Vitter.

"He is a quintessential hypocrite, and a synonym for a hypocrite is a liar." ..... Palfrey, who in person seems more like a prim suburban housewife than the woman at the center of a D.C. sex scandal, questions the sincerity of Vitter's public apology.

"The problem here, the sticking point here is the hypocrisy issue. This is a man, perhaps a lovely man in his personal life who has portrayed himself as one thing to the people of Louisiana and is an entirely different thing,"

GOP colleagues welcome Vitter’s return to Senate

Republican colleagues welcomed Sen. David Vitter back to Washington yesterday after the Louisianan spent a tense week avoiding the flap over his ties to the escort service of the so-called “D.C. Madam.”

Vitter made brief remarks to GOP conference members about his admission of contacts with the alleged prostitution network during yesterday’s policy lunch, according to sources. Few Republicans would discuss the nature of Vitter’s comments, but most opened their arms to him.

“I think everybody seemed glad to have him back at work,” Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said.

“People were supportive,” Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) said. “They realize that he’s worked through this this past week, that he’s ready to move forward.”.........

METAIRIE, La. - Sen. David Vitter denied yesterday having relationships with New Orleans prostitutes, a week after admitting links to a Washington escort service that federal prosecutors allege was a prostitution ring.

Vitter emerged from a week of seclusion by appearing at a news conference in suburban Metairie while holding hands with his wife, Wendy. He denied the New Orleans prostitution allegations

Scandalized Vitter has tough day at work

.... Vitter was trapped, and he knew it -- or heard it: the reporters with boom mikes and in high heels chasing after him. So he stopped.

"I look forward today to being back at work, really focused on a lot of important issues for the people of Louisiana," Vitter said, one week after acknowledging that his phone number appeared in the telephone records of the alleged "D.C. Madam," Deborah Jeane Palfrey. "I'm glad to be here."

With that, he took off again. ......

He reportedly apologized to his Republican colleagues during their weekly luncheon. Invoking a rare code of speechlessness, most senators declined to answer questions afterward, especially the one about whether Vitter had broken the law by acknowledging interactions with a company that federal prosecutors have called a prostitution ring.

.....

"I think this should have a full airing," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) said after a prolonged pause. "I don't really understand everything he did. There are a lot of accusations about prostitutes here in Washington, prostitutes in Louisiana. I don't know if that's breaking the law or not. It's obvious that it all came about as someone who's being charged with a crime here in Washington, D.C.

"But I'm not going to get into this issue."
