one thing about it if by chance we do get an impeachment resolution the 'cons won't be able to say the dems rushed into this without thinking this through or whatever it is that they'll say.

1. They'll say it anyway, which is why we shouldn't worry about what they say.
Just assume they'll say the worst and be prepared to knock it down.

3. Thank you! I wish more people understood this fact.
They're going to say it anyway, and if it isn't true they're going to make up "facts" to support their position.

To hell with them. Do what needs to be done, and tell the Republicans to go take a flying leap.

that's the point in the Speaker's rhetorical distancing of her office from the pursuit of an impeachment. Impartiality will be an asset if it comes to such a confrontation with the Executive, especially if the charges originate solely from our own party.
