Passenger Sexually Assaults Bus Driver

"A passenger sexually assaulted a METRO bus driver early Sunday, officials told KPRC Local 2. METRO police said the man boarded the bus on Bellaire Boulevard near Hillcroft Street at about 6 a.m.

Investigators said that the man pulled a gun on the female driver as she was completing her route on Rio Bonito Road near Tres Lagunas Drive. No other passengers were on board, officials said. The driver was forced to go to the back of the bus, where she was assaulted, police said.

The man told the driver to stay in the bus until he got off, officials said.

Detectives said the driver hit an alarm on the bus and started to drive to the METRO facility on Westpark Drive for help.

The driver was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. She was treated and released.

Police said the driver described her attacker as 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, dark complexion and long hair. The woman told investigators that the man spoke with a Louisiana accent.
