Keith Olbermann has just introduced his "Bush-Nixon Countdown Clock"
in which he sets the time to indicate how close the * administration is to imploding a la Nixon.

It starts out set to seven minutes to midnight. He's going to adjust the hands every night from now on based on the latest events!

18. Nixon Looking Better
RMN was actually a very good lawyer and quite brilliant at foreign policy. And he earned his presidency the hard way. So yes, he actually ascends a little on the Scoundrels-of-American-History meter for me when you compare him to, uh, you know...

12. Keith's inventiveness is awesome!
The "Bush-Nixon Countdown Clock" was the highlight of tonight's show.

After a commercial break, though, when I heard the announcer say, "MSNBC brings you a special report...", I thought, 'Oh no, they've pre-empted Keith!' But then I heard the finish: "...on the Constitution Crisis at the White House." :)

14. Keith's been re-using the old "White House in Crisis" music and graphics
from his first MSNBC show back in 1998 for Countdown--only the image of Clinton has been replaced.

15. Oh yes, that was some constitutional crisis. Let's see if it compares with the DC Madam's list.
And, if I remember correctly, Keith was disgusted about the 24-7 coverage of that witchhunt.

From Keith's 1998 Cornell Senior Convocation Speech:

There are days now when my line of work makes me ashamed, makes me depessed, makes me cry. And it occurs to me that this moral sensor has been fine-tuned within the walls of this campus. Forty years ago the great news broadcaster Edward R. Murrow got up in front of the convention of the radio and television news directors and announced that without moral direction all this great medium would become was "wires and lights in a box," and there are days when I wish it would still be even that idealistic.

About three weeks ago I awakened from my stupor on this subject and told my employers that I simply could not continue doing this show about the endless investigation and the investigation of the investigation, and the investigation of the investigation of the investigation. I had to choose what I felt in my heart was right over what I felt in my wallet was smart. I did not tell them they had 24 hours. I did not threaten them. I let them balance for themselves their professional and moral forces and set their timetable. I await their answer. Of course, I am not buying any new furniture for my home.

(...)

But I also know that the one thing you have that all of us "out here" do not...is that you are not yet jaded by this process. To some degree you must inevitably become so. But if you keep your Moral Force intact just sufficiently so that you can stand up once or twice in the rest of your life and say, "You know what? This is wrong for me and for people I know and for people I don't know and i'm not going to do it," you will have improved the world.

Considering this speech was made after Clinton's "constitutional crisis", I would say that Keith's epiphamy in regard to keeping his "Moral Force" in tact as a journalist gives more relevance & worth to the boy king's "White House in Constitutional Crisis", don't ya think?

17. You are correct!
You get a gold star. I think Keith is getting a big kick out of putting those graphics to a truly good use for a change.
