You know many legislators stayed over in their districts to do some constituent bonding after they marched in parades and so forth...
As for those subpoenas, those brown stains on them are exactly what we suspected they are...they let us know what Dick did with them. There was some discussion on the morning talk shows, but nothing definitive as yet.
Of course, the Libby pardon only served to piss off Judiciary chair Leahy, and another Patrick--Fitzgerald--may hold the key:

Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was even more blunt. Appearing on CNN’s “Late Edition,” he said, the commutation was “a blatant way of guaranteeing that Scooter Libby would not talk about the things that were done,” and added, “His silence has been bought and paid for.
”Senator Charles Schumer of New York, a Judiciary Committee member, said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that he had talked to Mr. Leahy on Saturday about possibly asking Patrick Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor in the Libby case, to appear before the committee. Mr. Fitzgerald, too, has complained about the commutation....Asked about that, Mr. Leahy said that he had hoped first to speak to the ranking Republican on the panel, Senator Arlen Specter, before proceeding. “If he has no objection to Mr. Fitzgerald coming forward, I think you may very well see Mr. Fitzgerald,” he said. Mr. Specter, who also appeared on “Late Edition,” registered no such objection....While Mr. Fitzgerald is barred from discussing grand jury proceedings, he presumably could talk about other matters – such as his interviews with Mr. Bush and Vice President Cheney.
