Baghdad offensive set to begin - U.S. officers By Dean Yates

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A U.S.-Iraqi campaign to stabilize Baghdad will begin soon and the offensive against militants will be on a scale never seen during four years of war, American officers said on Sunday.

Briefing a small group of foreign reporters, three American colonels who are senior advisers to the Iraqi army and police in Baghdad said a command center overseeing the crackdown would be activated on Monday.

Wish I could help. I feel as if I am in one of those historical days where leaders made these horrible decisions and the people were just standing by horrified.

My only advice: continue to contact congresspeople and Senators about this war. I do this constantly. Write LTTE. I also do this, altho I haven't recently (got hate mail last time I wrote but I will continue).

Once the LIbby trial is over we can have lots more information for our LTTE campaigns, which is my tactic. I want hard, solid evidence for my letters. I don't write "soft" letters. Mine are hard hitting and a bit sarcastic (which got me the hate letter last time). Oh well, the cost of doing business, as my father would have said!
