They're already trying to swiftboat Roosevelt Sims (Amtrak Guy)
I was looking for an update on this guy when I came across this link from a google search. This station doesn't even mention the fact of insulin shock, the just say he became drunk and unruly...

Of course it's a freakin' Faux outlet.. from St. Louis

Retired St. Louisan Kicked Off Train Remains Missing

(KTVI - myFOXstl.com) --
A retired St. Louis man kicked off an Amtrak train in rural Arizona is now safe.

Amtrak officials say Roosevelt Sims, 65, became drunk and unruly onboard. They stopped the train to wait for police but Sims ran off.

Sims was found around 9:40 p.m. Thursday night walking along railroad tracks two miles from where he was kicked off the train.

He is in good condition."

1. Even if he WAS drunk and disorderly, dumping him that way is completely
irresponsible. He ought to sue.

2. I get it now.
He was a big black guy...so fear him and throw him off the train. Think they would've done this to a white guy. Not trying to play the race card here but having grown up in the south....that's what I see.

5. on a FL bound amtrak train they threatened to throw off an old jewish couple
for playing cards for pennies--- GAMBLING, to amtrak---in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere. Big blonde amtrak lady was reaching up to pull the emergency brake because they were saying 'come on, it's only pennies, we're just passing the time"

I never understood, even as a child, what in the hell is wrong with gambling or making your own hooch. Stupid, stupid laws spurned on by idiot moralist. I can remember as a kid a guy having a pack of cards and people whispering about how sinful he was. Not only did he gamble with cards, but gasp...he drank beer too. Personally, I don't care for gambling since it involves calculation and such...I'm more of a word person. I went to Vegas once and even though I like Black Jack these pros were telling me how I should double down and all this other stuff and suddenly my mind just goes blank...I can't even figure out one deck, much less two. The Wheel of Fortune was always more fun to me, but even then.....I just go to Vegas to swim in the big pools but it's been over 10 years. And besides, it's too hot too many lights, too many people, and there are no clocks.

3. Note the use of "BECAME drunk and unruly" vs. APPEARED

"drunk and unruly."

At the age of 7 I beat the crap out of my own father screaming "I want my daddy!" while in insulin shock. Yeah, I'd been on quite a bender that day. :eyes:

Damn this fucking media. I can't stand it anymore.

7. I've got the other side of that coin
It's my father that's the diabetic....

I can't tell you how many times we've had to intervene and get sugar into him...including several times at Scout Camp. Yeah, it makes for an interesting discussion around the campfire about how so-and-so's dad was all messed up.

It's all about ignorance. I know the symptoms because I see them all the time, but a low blood sugar reaction is easily mis-diagnosed by a lay person.

Amtrak should have their asses frickin' sued. The gentleman could have died out there in the desert. Why not do like they do on an airline? How many people have been restrained and put off at Bangor, ME after disrupting a transatlantic flight? It's not like they don't have anyplace on a train to hold someone until they pull into the next station....

8. If a man was drunk and unruly
which the accused this guy of being, which he wasn't, why didn't the lock him in the baggage car or someplace. I think that Amtrack should be charged with attempted murder.
