You might want to fill up on Monday

"Some major oil companies operating in Venezuela have rejected the terms for the enforced takeover of part of their operations by the state, the president says.

Hugo Chavez said late on Friday that if they did not accept the nationalisation deals ahead of Tuesday's deadline, they would be told to leave."

- Snip -

"Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron Corp, Norway's Statoil, Britain's BP Plc and France's Total are the companies operating the targeted projects, which are valued at more than $30bn and are capable of producing 600,000 barrels a day."

The Oil Companies are always looking for excuses to jack up the price to the retailer, well, here's a grand one.

9. I filled up yesterday at $2.869

Got a couple of gallons for the mower too. Just look what BushCo has done to us.

A lot of people act like $2.869 is a bargain when it's just a momentary dip in a long upward climb.

11. The method to the madness is to raise the price of gas...
from n to x, then reduce said price to y, leaving a net of p, which is always higher by %age from where it began. People think the are getting a bargain at y, when they are still getting gouged.

n+x-y=p I never thought I'd actually write out a formula....

12. Boy, corporate fascists won't go away easily, will they?
ExxonMobil and the rest aren't used to being told that they're not the government.
