A POX on politics as usual

Americans can barely trust the information they get. A growing number of them know this. They pull up to the pumps and pour out their hard-earned dough just to be able to get from here to there. They hear on the news every night about soldiers who will come home in a box and look to their leadership for answers and get nothing in return.

Dubya has abysmal poll numbers, and congress too, and yet no real leader is rising to the fore on this wave of disgust and despair to do something, anything, to address what's wrong with this country. The media is a swamp of shit and stink and the people realize this, yet it is the media that is driving the campaign bus toward the edge of the cliff.

What will it take for those to whom we look for leadership to get off their asses and LEAD? To stand up and say, "Fuck this shit! No more back-scratching, double-dipping, lobbyist-feeding, media-licking, President-kissing bullshit. This is the way it is and it's 180 degrees from everything it should be!"

Does the American people want their government run by a handful of corporations for whom the finish line is the end of the next fiscal quarter? Who don't care what kind of a world might rise from their filth and putrescence in a couple of years' time? Do they want a handful of media outlets owned by the same goddamn people to force-feed them the same pablum as last week? That cares more about the social life of Paris Hilton than the bodies stacking up in Iraq and Afghanistan like cordwood?

What the fuck is wrong with this picture?

Someone, anyone, put an end to this madness before it drives us over the edge. Do something! Say something meaningful!

Those of us who hold out hope are getting pretty damned tired of your triangulation and capitulation. If you aren't going to try to fix things, GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!
