8. That's good to hear.

Maybe the general public is finally getting the message(s). And it's even more encouraging to see it happening in the Heartland.

 :hi:

12. no, I didn't get to see the motor cade, I had to leave
before he got there.

they kept changing the arrival time

our protest was scheduled from 9-11 and we started at 8 and I left at 11:30

I imagine there are many still there

I can't get back out there because they shut the street down

10. But, Keep up the great work because...
you may never know just who else passing by may have been influenced by the fact that you were out there standing up for something you believe in. Anyway, think about the fact that an overwhelming majority of people who pass "get it."

I started going to protests against the War in Iraq before the war started. Once the war started lots of people gave us the finger, but as time went on, there are fewer and fewer. I always blow kisses at people who flip me off. I believe love is always more powerful that its evil twin sister, hate.

23. A Crack in the Media Glaze?
I live near D.C. and there's a 'newsradio' station called WTOP, a Bonneville affiliate that gets news from CBS. Anyway, during their 'Today at the White House' segment, the reporter was talking about W's trip to Wichita and was going on about his visit to some new Boys And Girls Club there, about how it cost $30 mil and was supposed to serve the poverty population. THEN...'But Mr. Bush's real reason for coming here is a fundraiser...' My jaw just about hit the floor. Are they finally starting to admit that GWB has zero interest in the ostensible reasons for his visits and the truth is that his 'real reason' for visiting places is just to drum up money?

I hope KS Democrats run somebody against this Senator who's up for reelection, the one Georgie's there to help out.

28. sorry, but local news in KC
only reported cheering crowds.

In 2006, I might have driven down there to protest, like I drove to Manhattan, even though I have to rent a car to drive anywhere. It was sad to see both times, that the number of people waiting in line to see him was much larger than the number of people protesting him. Even worse, in Manhattan, our Governor was there to introduce him.
