Poor, poor Exxon, however will they survive...
Exxon - Record Profits (Again for 2006) - $39.5 billion...

Too bad we can't take back the money they stole from us during all of these false price emergencies and put that money into alternative energy sources...

- snip -

"Exxon reported annual profit of $39.5 billion, or $6.62 a share, for 2006 — its second consecutive annual record. Once again, the profit was the largest reported by any American company in history."

NY Times - Exxon and Shell Report Record Profits for 2006

1. Windfall profits tax
We'll recover some of their filthy lucre, just as we did when they got too damn greedy back in the seventies.

2. So what, I will have to amend my return after a WPT is passed?

And pay more for taxes on royalties from last year? That's what they did in the 70's, severance tax, income tax and then 6 or 7 months later WPT.

4. Well, maybe now they can pay the fine for the oil spill from the
EXXON Valdez (how many years ago was that)?

A federal judge already cut it in half. Or would that put them in financial trouble??????
