Rep. Waxman Asks Department of Transportation about Lobbying Congress

In a letter to DOT Secretary Peters, Chairman Waxman asks for documents and an interview relating to apparent efforts by the Department to lobby Members of Congress to oppose efforts by California and other states to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles.

Letter To Secretary Peters:

Dear Madame Secretary:

I have learned that the Department of Transportation has urged members of Congress to oppose efforts by California and other states to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles. Such an effort by the department appears to be highly inappropriate and would considered by some to be illegal...

They really made and effort to stop this?

(thinks for a second)

They are actually PRO greenhouse gases??? Why? just because the oil companies need to squeeze massive profits for 50 more years?? Is that really it?

2. Probably the makers of refrigerants and Air Conditioners
Seems to me that it was certain refrigerant gasses that helped to get us in this mess in the first place or was that the ozone problem? :shrug: as Bush* says just turn up the air conditioner and everything will be okay..
