Donna Brazile Thinks - GORE MIGHT RUN - "I Believe He Is Ready For His Moment"
Brazile Thinks Gore Might Run

In a recent speech, former Al Gore campaign manager Donna Brazile "strongly implied" that her former boss could be "waiting to make a dramatic entrance into the 2008 presidential race, especially if he wins an Oscar next month," the Allentown Morning Call reports.

Said Brazile: "'I believe he is ready for this moment. He is a good leader. I think he can be one of the few leaders who can bring this country together."

"She acknowledged it will be a tough decision for Gore, noting Kerry's announcement last week to bow out of the race. Gore believes he is now doing his life's work, Brazile said. However, she conceded that Gore might be able to do more about global climate change from inside the Oval Office."

1. If he does
I hope he doesn't make her his campaign manager, she did a really lousy job the last time. And since she's wrong about everything else, I'll assume she's wrong about this too.

Sorry, but Donna Brazile really pisses me off.

2. If he does, he'll wait
until this harpy is so preoccupied with every other candidate, trying to ruin them, that she'll have her hands too full to get her claws into him.

Announcing late, after all the DLC wonks have been parceled out to everybody else, may be the best strategy of all.

3. God I hope so.
Even though I'd vote for whoever the Dem nominee is I'm not that enthused about Hilliary and the thought of voting for Biden makes me ill.

4. Gore Shuts Down PACs (old PACs)
http://politicalinsider.com/2007/02/gore_shuts_down_pacs.html
The Hotline notes that in late 2006 Al Gore terminated his last two White House 2000 committees -- Gore/Lieberman, Inc. and its GELAC fund -- as well as his Leadership '02 PAC.

7. Would Gore knock Hillary from her front-runner status?
Methinks some Repugs would consider Gore, given the creeping fear of what global warming is dong to the planet right before our eyes.

"especially if he wins an Oscar next month"

11. In one way, I'm thrilled, but in the other ...

I am concerned that he'd have a very difficult fight ahead of him. Gore (rightfully) has a reputation as a champion of the global warming cause. The corporations and oil companies would have a vested interest in contributing scads of money to his opponent, simply to avoid the unfavorable changes he'd force them to make for the overall good of the planet.

It's a sad reality that the one with the biggest coffers tends to have the better odds.

13. What He Needs To Do
First, he needs to Wait. Don't announce too soon. There is absolutely no reason for him to do so. The primaries are at least a year away. What's the point of running now, or even in the next few months? People know who Al Gore is. He was Vice President for 8 years, and he's been in the public eye off and on since then, and more so recently. He has instant name and issue recognition. So patience is key.

Second, when he does announce, he needs to come out with passion. He must portray himself as an "outsider." Someone who has had 8 years away from the political venue, and has been "enlightened" during that period. He needs to come out hard and disgusted with how much of what he achieved along with B.C., has been torn down and how precarious a situation we're in, both in Iraq and domestically.

He needs to be patient, but then come in all guns blazing. Like a modern day Howard Beale. He has to reason with the American people, and explain to them why all the other candidates are wanna be's, but he's the one they can trust to work with Congress to solve the many problems we'll face going into the next decade.

18. I would be SO behind him if he did --
He's a different man than the one who ran in 2000, a much wiser and more authentic version of himself. The REAL Al Gore, if you will. I dig authenticity and I really dig the REAL Al Gore.

19. I really hope Gore runs
I feel very strongly that he is the person for the job. I was pulled between Gore & Feingold, but with Russ' statement of not running, I would be 100% behind Gore.
