President Bush has taken ill with a stomach ailment
President George W Bush has taken ill on the final day of a Group of Eight summit and is resting in his room, a White House aide said.

Dan Bartlett, a White House counsellor said Mr Bush had a stomach ailment which he described as "not serious".

"We're not sure if it was something he ate last night or this morning," he said.

The President hopes to return to meetings at the summit later in the day.

4. He is a national embarrassment.
It's either a hangover or an excuse to play hooky from any further meetings. It doesn't look like too many other world leaders (with the exception of German Chancellor Merkel) are all that happy to see him. I'll bet that the leader of any other country suffers a 10 point drop in their approval ratings among their citizens every time they are photographed with Bush.

21. Not really.
Most people process out that little bit of alcohol as they go; fake beer makes you pee as much as regular beer. Assuming your liver functions normally, you could drink them all night and get pretty much zero buzz. Trust me, I've tried.

32. Y'all are diving off a cliff here.
Lots of non-drinkers and ex-drinkers drink wimpy beer. Your orange juice is likely to have as much alcohol as this stuff.

40. no wonder I rarely drink OJ, but can you site a link for that? I googled
it and one guy on a rootbeer forum cited a university drug study, but it didn't come up with an OJ link.

where did you get that?

45. All fruit and grain beverages ferment.
Did you ever make fruit wine or keep apple cider too long? It is a natural process. Any high sugar fruit juice will ferment. Of course tossing in yeast will speed the process up, but it will manage all on its own. Ever have semi solid orange juice hanging out in the 'fridge?

31. Alcoholics in recovery are advised not to drink any alcohol at all.
"Getting a buzz" isn't a reliable indicator of how much alcohol is in one's body or of how hard one's liver is having to work to metabolize it. The bottom line is that alcoholics (which the chimp has admitted to being) can't handle any amount of alcohol. I know. I am one myself.

22. Sure it is. In Germany, nobody drinks real beer.
Among my friends who've had to learn not to drink, it's nearly a universal truth that near-beer or fake beer is pretty much step one on the road back to being a drunk. It's pretty much common knowledge that Bush has been off the wagon since the "pretzel" incident--to everyone but Freepers, anyway.

...if they are pounded down with impunity. I hope that cameraman who got that shot follows Bush around like a hawk and gets as many photos as he can. We need to see Bush red-eyed and blubbery and weaving and stumbling like a drunken sailor. Then post those photos at every WalMart, WalGreens, public building and military barracks in the country. This asshole needs to be exposed for the phony sick drunk that he is.

14. The Enablers are lying for him* again.
They said Pickles had a similiar stomach ailment a few days ago, but it had not affected her schedule. Sounds to me like they conveniently make up stories to cover for his drinking now.

Bartlett had to take back the food comment so as not to offend the host and chefs. Bush should nom him for a diplomat. :sarcasm:

Yeah, I bet the Bucklers beer bottle was a prop. I bet he was inbibing the real thing. Or maybe he drank so much low alcohol beer (Bucklers) that he got snockered.
