Lawyer Confirms 'Budding Friendship'

ATLANTA -- Beth Twitty and John Ramsey both share loss, and now they share a budding friendship, according to an attorney who represents them.

The mother of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway and the father of slain child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey met late last year through an organization that arranges speaking engagements, attorney Lin Wood of Atlanta said Monday.

Wood declined to say if Twitty, who has been married twice, and Ramsey, whose wife died in June 2006, are dating. George "Jug" Twitty and Beth Twitty separated Dec. 15.

"I would describe them as friends who have a great deal of admiration for each other," Wood said of Beth Twitty and Ramsey. Wood said he represents both of them individually.

I went to the KIRO-TV home page. This story is not one of the top stories. Rather it is linked through a scrolling list of "most popular stories."

So, apparently, people are interested in this story. Why? That's not for me to say. I don't give a rat's ass. But why not start threads on the other "most popular" stories?

21. Things like this happen a lot. Many people are pulled together

by grief. Both of these people have lost a child and both due to violent circumstances so they share something most of us hopefully will never have to understand and feel. Many, many couples don't make it through the loss of a child. Usually the grief and the "what ifs" ruin a marriage and destroy what's left of a family.

I'm not sure I understand the comments about this because I don't find it very surprising. There have been quite a few people that have married meeting in a similar way.
