"We have not been attacked since 2001". When will liberal pundits (besides Bill Maher) STOP THIS?
Whenever an ignorant Bush sympathizer uses this "argument" of not having been attacked since 9/11, he sets himself up for an easy rebuttal. Why is it only Bill Maher who points out the obvious flaw in this stupid talking point?

The twin towers were attacked in 1993. It took eight years for terrorists to attack them once again. It has been less than 6 years since September 11, 2001. Meanwhile, Al Qaeda successfully attacked Madrid, London, and several other places in the world.

AL Qaeda does not work in the same time frame as a typical impatient conservative/Republican American. They are happy to wait 20 years to attack again. It is ridiculous to say that because an attack has not happened in the last 5+ years, that Americans are "safer". Five years is a blink of an eye.

Yet, with the exception of a few prominent personalities like Bill Maher, the neo conservatives use this idiotic talking point with impunity. Enough already.

1. But, according to Con logic we've been attacked thousands of times
since 9/11. For example, the USS Cole was "an attack." The thing is, the people who claim 'we haven't been attacked' or 'not had a significant attack', are the very same people who will list the Cole as an attack. BUT! They conveniently leave out 'attacks' occuring daily in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They pick and choose whatever is convenient for them.

3. Bush provided targets ...
... right where the 'terrorists' live, they are attacked every single day.

'They' don't have to buy a plane ticket or endure sneaking across the U.S.-Mexican border to attack symbols of American power -- Bush has made it easy for them in Iraq and Afghanistan.

4. Which "liberal pundits" would you like to take this on?
You're correct that somebody should point this out but I'm afraid that we're gonna be waiting a long time for liberal pundits to do so. I think they are extinct like unicorns or something.
