Vincent Bugliosi on KPFA discussing his new book debunking JFK "conspiracy theories"
Edited on Wed May-30-07 10:18 AM by deutsey
FYI.

I believe there was a conspiracy to murder Kennedy, but am interested in hearing what he has to say.

www.kpfa.org

He'll be on for the next hour (11:00-noon EST).

2. I haven't heard him say anything substantive yet
I'm hoping they take callers and someone with a coherent grasp of why so many of us doubt the Warren Commission debates him.

3. He's making a really lame case so far
Hopefully he'll get into something more weighty soon...

4. He's very unconvincing
Caller will be taken in the next half hour, but I'm very disappointed in the show so far.

As I say, I believe there was a conspiracy, but I'm open-minded and was hoping Bugliosi would at least make a compelling argument for his side.

It's a wonder he sent Manson away if this is any indication of his ability to present a case...

He should stick with his own actual cases.

Sic transeunt Nader, Hitchens, now Bugliosi.

6. I'm turning him off...
He blathers on and on (sounding like he's just spinning his wheels to run out the clock so he doesn't have to take calls), gets pissy when he's asked about Oswald as a CIA operative, then sets up all these strawmen that he knocks down.

How disappointing. I used to respect this guy and really wanted to hear what he had to say about this because I thought he might contribute something worthwhile to the debate.

He's an ass.

8. I've always respected Mr. Bugliosi,
and plan to buy and read his book. But he is simply wrong. I saw him "debating" on Hardball yersterday, and I felt sad. He seemed reduced from the impressive figure he once was: instead of being respectful and pressing his points in the way he once did, he was hostile, rude, and attempted to "win" by insulting Chris and the other guest, by using cheap debating tactics like not letting anyone else get a word in, and purposefully distorting the few words the other fellow got in.

I would enjoy having an opportunity to debate Vince Bugliosi in a structured setting on this topic. I think that I would put him in check mate within two minutes after his opening statement.

9. I've lost respect for Mr. Bugliosi regarding this
And I think Bobby Kennedy got too close to the truth.

10. It's worth noting
that Mr. Bugliosi introduced evidence that clearly indicated a conspiracy in the RFK assassination. Numerous documents from that case are found in the appendix of the book by William Turner and John Christian about the conspiracy and cover-up in "The Assassination of Robert F. Kennedy."

11. Well, I watched him on Hardball yesterday discussing this
And seemed to debunk any sort of conspiracy. And just like 9.11, any American who doesn't go along with the "government account" is seen as a conspiracy theorist.

12. He defined "rude."
It was sad to see him behaving that way. The other guest was too polite. Bugliosi even snapped at Matthews for no reason.

13. I actually thought he walked off
He was very agitated. Wonder why?

14. That's funny,
because I thought he had walked off, too. Then when he snarled at Matthews, and Chris said it had been a technical difficulty, I thought it was just me reading too much into Bugliosi's being so agitated.

I know that he has felt strongly about the Warren Commission Report for a long time. But reasonable people can disagree, without being as ugly as he was yesterday. I had wondered if his age or health might have been the cause for his more recent presentations.
