A better idea than Hillary for Obama as VP--Bill Richardson
Richardson has a lot of foreign policy experience. He is the Governor of a state we would like to have a win in. Finally, as a latino he represents a constituency that Obama has had some trouble with. I think Obama/Richardson would make Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado and yes, even Texas very competitive. I wouldn't even rule out Arizona.

Hillary adds really nothing to an Obama ticket, imo--except a lot of baggage. How can he be talking of the future if he has one of the relics of the past on his ticket?

1. maybe
He's outside of Washington, which fits Obama's message. I always thought he was a big DLC-er, though. And more in the Hilary camp than out of it. He's a pretty boring speaker on the stump! But the Latino vote would be a good thing to gain.

I can't think of a better suggestion at this point, but I'm sure the Obama camp is looking at all options.

2. Having seen Richardson on MTP last week cemented my long-held view
(developed as an ex-southwesterner who watched him at relatively close range from a neighboring state) that he does not have the Right Stuff. IMHO.

I would trust Obama to make a great choice of VP, someone who's truly compatible with him (in addition to having strengths that complement his own), so I'm not worried about that aspect of the ticket at all.
I am worried about the Democratic presidential nomination-- let's just get Obama in there, so he can focus on the work of getting to the White House and moving our country forward.

3. Anybody but Fucking HILLARY (ABH)
I was willing to give her a chance before her scorched earth practices.

4. No to Hillary.
What does she bring to the ticket? She doesn't have that much more foreign policy experience than Obama, so it's a wash.

7. But she would bring a lot to the ticket
Adding Hillary would add many constituencies to the ticket:

It would bring in more of the uneducated, more of those unfamiliar with the issues, those who support Rove-style politics, supporters of banning flag burning, supporters of censoring video games, opponents of banning cluster bombs, supporters of increased secrecy by political leaders, and those who thought going to war against Iraq was a good idea.

You have to admit, none of these groups are strongly pro-Obama, but Clinton might pull them in :)

5. I am worried about this dream ticket thing
to me it would be a nightmare not a dream. I would feel sick to my stomach if he agreed to it. I bet she offers to back out if he makes her his VP.

I am not really into Richardson but would jump up and down for it over Hillary.

Right now we just have to figure out a way to get her out of this before we kill our chances to win in Nov.

6. She doesn't want VP
She wants him to quit while HE IS AHEAD and become her VP. Condescending pile of steaming shyte. No way to Hillary in any way, shape, or form.

8. Yes, her motives are transparent
She wants to make voters think that if they vote for her they can have both candidates, with Clinton president now, Obama VP and presumably president in eight years.

I'm not buying that!

10. she still is acting like she did that first year
like its her right to win and no one else is allowed to...it reminds me of high school when you vote for homecoming queen and sometimes a certain popular girl will expect to win...sometimes that happens but sometimes someone with zeal and pep comes along and gets all the votes and the other girl goes all catty on her...

I bet Hillary goes nuts if she loses....and if Obama wins the pres to where she will be out for good...i would be willing to bet she divorces Bill...i bet she stayed with him for this...my predictions...

11. Completely agree on Richardson --
Would also consider Edwards, Biden, or Dodd. Any of them but Hillary. I've never been a huge Clinton fan, but her recent negativity has sent me over the edge. Now I even get angry when her face is on my tv.

Richardson would be the best due to Latino vote and his foreign policy experience. I'm sure alot of candidates would like to be with Obama, but are afraid to speak up because she is still in it. I lived in Washington when she was in the white house and by all accounts she was not a pleasant person to deal with if she didn't like you. Sort of a female George Bush, only smarter. At least Kennedy and Kerry were willing to speak up, and I don't think Dean has much love for her either.

What a mess.
