2. Good..I never really left. I'm glad the
BOG was reborn from the primaries, though, and we've had this forum for supporters who want the Obama Presidency to succeed.

3. I'm glad BOG is a place to vent
without being attacked. But I refuse to let a bunch of haters run me away from GD. That's how I am in everyday life and that's how
I'll always be. In other words to heck with them.

4. Cha you get the gold star for staying in the GD
when it was pure hell -- hope it never gets that bad again.

Still can't figure out why it started and why it calmed down a bit even before the New Rules.

Whatever the reason ~ Let's hope that we can have a better tone around here. :bounce:

Thanks for sticking in there for us CHA!

10. It seems it's been awhile
since I was fighting those losing battles and I don't think I was very good at it but since you reminded me of how grateful I am for those who do an excellent job, imv...I really do want to salute cliff, bernie, NJMaverick, Hugh Moran, Nicholas Woodruff, Frenchie, grant, Peacetrain, Pro Sense, babylonsister, jenmito, Jefferson Dem, Clio the Leo, scheming daemons, ClarkUSA, et al, as stalwart supporters of our President in the face of gatlin hatin'..

And, I do mean hatin'..nothing constructive about it.

Also, appreciate Skinner, Elad, EarlG, and all the mods for always trying to make DU a better place even through the Perfect Storm in our Political History.

Of course, the BOGsters:bounce: who keep it together:fistbump:

Thanks, goclark:D

12. BOWinner Awards go to the following....
"I really do want to salute cliff, bernie, NJMaverick, Hugh Moran, Nicholas Woodruff, Frenchie, grant, Peacetrain, Pro Sense, babylonsister, jenmito, Jefferson Dem, Clio the Leo, scheming daemons, ClarkUSA, et al, as stalwart supporters of our President in the face of gatlin hatin'.."

And lets not forget Nancy and those that made a strong statement.

Hope they will all return so that we can blend with those that want to support our President and the Democratic Party.

5. Not me ...
Edited on Fri Feb-05-10 11:19 AM by RoyGBiv
Every time I end up in a discussion with the usual suspects, it always degenerates to the same childishness. It just gets deleted faster.

That's not improvement. It's simply obscurity.

OnEdit: To clarify, my general trends of posting "out there" haven't changed much except in the past few weeks, which is more a result of me being too busy in the real world to bother with such nonsense. But, other than the more rapidly deleted egregious problems, I don't see much difference.

Yesterday, for example, we had two threads on Shelby's blanket hold Obama nominees. In one of those threads, the comments belittling or otherwise criticizing *Obama* either for what he hadn't done in the past or what the poster perceived he wouldn't do in the future were the majority of those comments, even in some of the comments that also chastised Shelby. In the other thread, people focused on criticizing Shelby. Reading through the list of people posting, one saw the same thing one has been seeing for a year: a core of hysterical people who dislike Obama and will criticize him for anything, regardless of is culpability.

7. This is true ...

Now that you mention it, I do have a new habit I just realized I have.

When I've become engaged with someone I'm pretty sure is going to go into the gutter fairly quickly, I hold off reading their response to me for a bit, preparing myself for it so I don't go off half-cocked too. It has helped my blood pressure. :)

9. I posted a North Korea thread
about them being taken off the state sponsored terrorist list, which I thought was a pretty big deal - and all I got was "what about Cuba". I don't think it's changed that much. They just can't say cheerleader or Nazi anymore. But they can sure disrupt threads.

13. It's back with a vengance. They've just found more inventive ways to bash.
But the odor is still unmistakeable.

16. That was so 2 days ago
I just read a thread from somebody who is so perpetually mad, it's part of their user ID. Same shit that has kept me from posting more than once or twice a week. Same miserable people. Remind me never to make fun of Republicans as "people posting from their mom's basement". :eyes:

18. I don't think so.
Unfortunately it's just not going to happen here. Skinner said something to the effect of "our half," meaning all of us. It would be interesting to have a study on how many of "our half" we BOGers represent, and how many are of the more radical stripe.

Then I'd like someone to tell me why people who advocate an alliance with teabaggers are actually part of the "our half" that I belong to.

I think we've been hijacked.

19. I agree.
At the moment we've been hijacked by a loose alliance of real baggers and outright 3rd party folks (Greens and Socialists).
