"The President under fire from his own party"
that's how the local Right Wing owned NBC news station characterized Obama's Q&A with Senate Dems just now.

I swear to you, ladies and gentlemen...last Friday, when Obama did the same thing with Repubs....the very same station only made a mere mention of the meeting! A mere MENTION!!!!! Less than a minute.

But today????

They spent almost five minutes on today's meeting, showing questions from Blanche Lincoln and her blue dogs (I clocked it) They edited clips from the meeting to make it look like he was being stumped by the questions.

NBC4 had might as well be Fox News.

Unfuckingbelievable.

1. Here's my email to them:
Your coverage of Obama's meeting with Senate Democrats today was atrocious. It was full of lies. And it was disingenuous. Your station is trying to create the narrative that democrats are dissatisfied with Obama, when in fact that is not true. However, last Friday, when the President kicked the GOP's behinds in the Q&A he held with them in Baltimore, your newscast made only a fleeting mention of it. Why is that??? Are you afraid to show the people that Obama isn't the incompetent person you want people to believe he is? Why did you spend more time on the Senate Dem meeting than the GOP House meeting?

Consider yourselves having lost a viewer. Make that two viewers (my Mom as well). If I want to watch a newscast that gets its Obama stories straight from the talking points of GOP Headquarters, I'll watch Fox News.

2. And you see, this is where Democrats simply don't get it.
Instead of showing a proud, untied, energized front -- it was 'what do we tell the children?" time.

MSM wanted a Obama-under-fire story, and Lincoln and Bayh not only gave it to them, they practically wrote and edited it for them.

3. Lawrence O'Donnell
explained to KO this evening that this was orchestrated.

Senators who are up for reelection this fall were the ones asking the questions (by design), and they were asking questions that they're going to be asked by their constituents and in their debates during their campaigns, and the president gave them the answers they need for those questions.

O'Donnell was almost shouting, "Bravo!"

I'm worried about how Fox News actually lies about what's happening. It seems to be getting worse all the time. I saw Roger Ailes on This Week last Sunday, and he said he's not particularly interested in news, he's interested in ratings. Well, there you have it.

4. I get that, but it wasn't a good idea to present the questions in such a weak-kneed way.
Just didn't seem to do ourselves any favors! :)

5. I'm just so pissed at the media.
It was such a blatant thing, what they did. Picking that meeting apart making it look like Obama's not popular with democrats, when they made only a fleeting mention of the GOP meeting. Frenchie was right, the MSM is trying to take Obama down.
