1. He knows
that if he gets the nomination the Democratic will never support his candidacy. If they didn't support Gore or Kerry, they're certainly not going to go to bat for Dennis when his election is inevitably stolen.

No, Hillary is the annointed one -- IMO.

42. Nah. What he knows is he ain't getting the nomination.
But if pigs flew and he did, if he DARED to bring a Republican to the table, I would HOPE the Democrats would walk away. But it's not a real issue. He's just branded himself a one-issue candidate and that's sad.

2. IMO what he's thinking is this
He's a dark horse contender and the only way he has a chance is to take a longshot.

My guess is he's considering an independent bid with Paul.

12. Oh please...
You were never a supporter.

The Kucinich team works very hard and we know that Dennis is a man of integrity.

In the Dennis Kucinich website you will find over 9,000 members which you're probably not part of (fake Dennis supporter.)

WE are a very tight group and we know where we stand. I especially love those people with the Edwards pictures who say they were Kucinich supporters.

We are a strong group and we stand united behind Dennis Kucinich 100%

if he runs with Paul. And I just sent him an e-mail asking him to make a definitive statement one way or the other, and telling him I literally had been ready to make a contribution by the 29th matching deadline but had now decided not to. I will also not honor my 12/15 pledge if he runs with that horse's ass. I asked him to read the other DU and Kos threads on this subject and notice how people were running for their lives from that, that his campaign would literally dry up and blow away overnight (IMHO).

I am ready to switch to Biden in a heartbeat. Running with Ron Paul would make Dennis Kucinich dead to me, as much as I admire everything about him, it would indicate utter pigheaded dumbassery and would not be in the public interest.

of the "Kucinich team" as your post purports, you could easily verify that.

However, hearing the audiotape this morning of DK "stepping on his crank" about Ron Paul, has me feeling completely disillusioned about his now glaring naievete (his yammering about a "Peace Department" used to be the only real thing that concerned me about him). Do you, who posts on behalf of "we" (the "Kucinich team") "stand united behind Dennis Kucinich 100%" on this egregious Ron Paul fiasco? If that's where DK's "team" stands, I'm sorry, but I just became one of those who switched to John Edwards. This Ron Paul flap could be DK's ultimate undoing, much as Howard Dean's "scream speech" in Iowa almost 4 years ago sealed his fate. As a Deaniac then, I felt completely deflated watching Dean go berserk onstage before the entire planet. I'm sick of feeling deflated by candidates I otherwise admire, whether it was Howard Dean then or Dennis Kucinich now.

Please see: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph... for a more detailed discussion of my problem with DK's Ron Paul thingy.

If you don't believe me about my having been a Kucinich supporter, just do a search for my posts on this topic. You'll find that I've been consistently and vocally pro-Kucinich ever since I came to DU a few years ago.

But after the this betrayal? No more.

Ron Paul wants to repeal the Civil Rights Act, for gawd's sake! Anyone who plays around with fuckhead like that immediately becomes yesterday's garbage, as far as I'm concerned.

24. I am a Kucinich supporter
and have donated what I could to his campaign. There are so many other people he could have a running mate. If he seriously would choose Ron Paul, I too can no longer support Kucinich.

There are too many good Democrates and Greens I could support.

I really like many of Ron Paul's comments of truth to power but he is NOT someone who work for Peace.

i would vote for him in my primary and in the GE - until now - Ron Paul is a dangerous man - just becasue he wants to end the war is no reason to sell my soul to get either one of them elected. It just seems to me that other than the war, DK and RP are polar opposites

Stupid stupid move. Even Dems who think DK is a long shot but support his message will think twice now

34. Partisanism, gang colours, and civil war.
Party politics are stupid, partisan, head games. just too complex for the majority of americans to spend their time following the ball. I have a strong opposition to RP and his so called platform, however he is consistent and measured against American foreign interventionism, and war making,. as well as consistent in his pursuit of Monetary Reform. If those where the only two issues tackled by a DK/RP unity administration in 4 years I for one would be happy,. as those are both huge issues that no other candidates even come close to addressing,. if in the 4 years the military was pulled back from the 766+ bases in OTHER countries and retooled as an american defensive and humanitarian crisis aide organization and the pirate bankers where scuttled from the debt shell game they have been running on us for our entire lives,. then we may address some of the other issues,. . I don't like RP but if he and DK could do just that, then I would support it,.
What is DK thinking., well he is looking at the fund raising and poll numbers,. and looking for a way to unite the fringes against the apathetic middle,. its a kinda strategy,. you do realize that in countries with parliamentary systems, Canada say, we get 'minority' governments. as it currently is in Canada,. i.e. no single party holds the majority of seats,. two or more minority parties often with radically opposing views work together and form a coalition government on the issues that they DO agree on and they DEBT the rest,. some things do get done in minority governments all over the world,. If RP and DK can come to some consensus then perhaps the rest of america can,. . or we can just let Hillary continue the Pirate Bankers endless regime of opprestion.

This is the United States. We do NOT have a parliamentary system. We do, occasionally, have spoilers. In that case, I would expect Dennis to draw funding from many mysterious Republicans. I had not thought he could be so Naderishly arrogant or stupid. I'm very sad about this. I was proud that my mother was voting for him but now I'm going to make the effort to talk her out of it.

As for your contempt for "party politics," this is the Democratic Underground. If you advocate for a third party spoiler I will be happy to alert the moderators.

Kucinich has basically just informed America that he was never serious about his candidacy. He's using the platform to make his points. A serious campaign looks completely different.

37. "Bipartisanship"??? UGH!
That word used to mean something in Washington long, long ago, perhaps in the Truman or Eisenhower years, but today it is nothing more than "sellout". Bipartisanship implies compromise, and anyone that's been paying attention to anything in politics for the past 27 years knows perfectly well that Republicans in office since then do NOT compromise with Democrats about ANYTHING of any significance. Rather, their position has consistently been "my way or the highway": if you Dems don't cave in, we'll run you over and leave tire tracks on your stinking rotting corpse.

Dennis needs to take his head out of the clouds, pronto. If he fails to repudiate his recent words about Ron Paul, he will go down as one of the most pathetic laughing stocks in American political history.
