Lieutenant General Ricardo S. Sanchez, U.S. Army, retired, who served as the top American commander of U.S. Armed Forces in Iraq following the U.S invasion in March 2003, delivered the Democratic Radio Address on Saturday, November 24. In his address, General Sanchez discusses the war in Iraq and the need for a new direction that focuses on a diplomatic and political strategy.

3. The problem with Sanchez...
...is that he's been right every step of the way, and the Bush Administration CAN'T stop listening to the failures that keep telling them what they want to hear and start listening to the people that are actually competent because to do so would be an admission of failure.

GW and his cadre in the WH would rather see every single U.S. soldier come home in a body bag than admit they were wrong and admit their policies a failure.

4. This Man
Would be a great Joint Cheifs under Secretary of Defense Wesley Clark
under a Biden / Kucinich Presidency. But that would solve so many of
our problems, the money-changers controlling the coporations that
control our govt. will never have that, and it's just fucking sad.

7. I heard him this morning.
He sounded fantastic. Especially the part about "not saying this as a representative of the Democratic Party, but as a soldier and a veteran."

13. Needed message, just not from Sanchez
Bush needs to be taken to task for starting this damn war, but Sanchez isn't the right cheerleader for this. I have worked for him and other Armor generals, and he was the least competent. He oversaw Abu Ghraib, and was also otherwise just a poor leader post-invasion when he was reassigned from a cushy job in Wiesbaden to do it. We can contribute our very poor initial post-invasion performance to Sanchez.

Because of all that he can easily be attacked by the right on his record, and any truth in his message will be lost.
