4. Thanks John. It is so hard to understand when we have a
candidate that is taking his time to build houses in Nola, and backing the writers during their strike that others are polling him as out of the race.

5. I will never count out a candidate that is for the workers of this country
and I agree, there's too much talk of "oh it's Hillary's nomination", when we know 100% for certain in our minds that this is PROPAGANDA by the news corporations to instill in voters that the choice is basically decided.

This is a GREAT video... thank you to the film crews and to the person who uploaded it for us to see.

6. Amen. And the "alleged front runner" does nada for anyone!
But does provide employment to "boo birds" "push pollsters" and "plants" as well as corporate cronies so all isn't a loss! Snark :sarcasm: :sarcasm: Edwards is the real deal.He literally "walks the walk".

He walks the walk - it's a shame that so many don't see his actions as ones of concern and sincerity. Those in the video sure did seem to support him!

K&R!

9. If you want Edwards to be president, you need to grab a sign
and set up a table, print out some brochures from www.johnedwards.com or the we like Edwards website and start talking to people. Edward is not taking money from the corporate lobbyists, and his campaign is based on people power. So if you are one of the people and you like Edwards, it's up to you. I'm working hard for Edwards. He is our best bet because he speaks from the heart. He really loves people. He is not cold and calculating like Hillary.

19. Opp to talk about stuff the other candidates won't touch
Seriously, when do we expect to see Hillary or Obama (the other in the top 3) talk about publicly funded elections, paper ballots and media consolidation, issues that go FAR beyond this election and fundamentally effect our democracy?

Some people think a vote for Hillary is like getting Bill back. Well, if Hillary plans on promoting more things like NAFTA, GATT and the FCC Telecom Act of 1996 (which did a lot to create the awful mainstream media we have today), I sure hope not.

20. "Hillary" (Clinton) put out a statement in support of the writers
Nafta: she has said that it was a disappointment in that it did not accomplish what they thought it would--and she is willing to make changes. Peru is an example of the changes.

She has been progressive--more so in her votes than Edwards has in his--he recently changed his spots to run for election.

21. Ok?
Ok, so she generically is "willing to make changes". Yes, that's gutsy stance!

I guess you've changed my mind. There is no need to talk about specific things like publicly funded elections, paper ballots and a citizen congress (again, all issues that are fundamental to a thriving democracy) when you can just say that someone is generically "progressive".

How about media consolidation? I'd say most people on this website agree the state of the MSM is AWFUL, and media consolidation has a huge hand in that. Is Hillary anywhere near that issue, or again, is she likely to push for yet another Telecom Act of 1996?

her ideas are there for all to see. Don't make my statement her statement. Look it up. She is on the record in these issues and is more progressive than Edwards ever was.

23. She is on the record on these issues?
Tell me how Hillary taking in insane amounts of special interest money (FAR more than any other candidate, including republican candidates which is astounding) is progressive or will help her apparently progressive agenda?

She is CLEARLY the candidate furthest right (compared to the other dems) when it comes to foreign policy, healthcare (worst program, possibly because she's received more money from the health care industry than any other candidate, including republicans) and trade issues.

When David Brooks this morning (who I can't stand BTW) said that "moderate" democrats who don't want to raise taxes and want to be "tough" on Iraq/Iran like Hillary, well, it just further proved what most of us already know.

PS---I really don't think you know how Hillary feels on the issues of elections, paper ballots, media consolidation, etc (you *want* to believe she is progressive because you want her to win, for whatever reason). Furthermore, even if she paid some lip service to those issues in the past, they are clearly VERY low priorities for her as she hasn't said a peep about them during this campaign or the debates.

24. instead of just listening to biased politicians you should look at her record
And since we are on the subject of taking money: look up "Edwards hegde funds" he is not quite telling the whole truth...And this came out in the Russert-attack-debate when Dodd stood up to Edwards' spin on funding.

25. I'm aware

That ALL of the top tier candidates have taken *some* amount of special interest money, I'm not naive. Unfortunately it's a requirement in our corrupted, lobbyist driven system, which is EXACTLY why voting for someone like Edwards (who wants publicly funded elections and says so openly) is critical to ensure a higher quality of democracy in the future...arguably this issue, along with paper ballots and media consolidation, trumps ANY other possible issue you could think of as far as long term importance to America, and again, Hillary has nothing to offer in that regard.

If she cared she would bring it up in her campaign, but she doesn't want to scare her corporate donors.

The difference (and it's a huge one) is *how much* money (Hillary has taken FAR more special interest money), and *where the money is coming from*.

Hillary has taken boatloads of cash from the defense and health care industries and, surprise, she's the most hawkish dem with the weakest health care plan. Another great example is the link provided below.

But Edwards? Look at his proposals and stances, they are incredibly populist, pro poor and middle class...apparently *his* money hasn't corrupted him so far, at least not as clearly as it has Hillary:

You've made my point. Hillary's a replay of what the meaning of the word IS is. Clintonian double-speak. Homogenized nothingness in a pants suit. I want someone (like JE) who talks FOR ME and not AT ME.
