1. Talk about pulling teeth...trying to be funny with Tim Russert
is like catching a fart.

3. Wow I'm so proud Russert comes from my hometown
what a humorless idiot! And I love Stephen - if possible, he made Russert look like even more of an idiot. Stephen's outrageous statements made totally straight-faced cracked me up.

5. I'd be interested to see Jon Stewart face off against Tim the Whore.
He'd simply repeat what he told the Crossfire losers: "I won't be a monkey for you."

6. You guys, Russert was great! He was feeding Colbert lines, staying in
character - I don't understand all the negative comments about him. If he just sat there and laughed at everything Colbert said, it would have ruined Colbert's bit. I think they were both very funny and carried it off well.

7. Russert stayed in what character? Buffoon, the one he plays each week?
And, how on earth could he have "ruined" Colbert's bit, when Colbert's bit is precisely aimed at deflating the egos and papier mache principles of over fed, over paid shills such as Russert?

I think Russert was trying to go back and forth from asking serious questions to asking humorous questions, all with no real clue about the reason that Colbert's faux pompous persona is so funny to so many.

13. He's a grownup in that business. He has a clue.
He's trying to buy back his soul, is all.

11. Saw this live...
Friday night at the GWU Lisner Auditorium.

Tim Russert interviewed Stephen Colbert out of character and in character, and Colbert was hilarious either way. Tim Russert did a great job as well. He enjoyed the jokes more on stage and played with Stephen more live.

After the interview, Stephen signed books for everyone in the audience who stuck around. And he was very sweet and warm to everyone.
