1. mind blowing. According to Jonathan Turley other sources have confirmed
Qwests' statement that Bush asked for spying powers in February of 2001, way before 9-11. The gov't offered Qwest a lucrative contract, and removed the contract when Qwest refused to cooperate with the spying. He also says thank congress directly for all of this. It is 100% congress' job to be the check and balance. Congress gave Bush everything he asked for and more. (This applies to both congresses, the pre 2006, and post).

3. Stop reflexively bashing your party. Show some pride! The Dems have NOT given Bush what he wants.
Edited on Tue Oct-16-07 06:10 AM by Perry Logan
"President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low, and he prevailed on only 14 percent of the 76 roll call votes on which he took a clear position.

"So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes. That marks the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."

Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority.

6. did you watch the video? He said three times that congress did this. It is their
responsibility. (obviously Bush did it, but there is only one entity in charge of making sure it doesn't happen, congress.)

7. Mr. Turley may have said the magic words (or maybe not)
International courts.

Regarding the drugging of prisoners--or anyone else for that matter: It is against US law to distribute or administer a drug w/o a doctor's order. It is also against US law to use chemical restraints, the practice of drugging someone to control them for what any reason.

After reading the account of the mother & son that were killed in the recent blackwater massacre, I began wondering how much longer can the international courts ignore the crimes of this administration. Now this. Sadly I think the international community is just biding time until bushco* is out of office.
