Wbo will ever save George Will from his pathological wingnutism! Supposedly this man is rational and intelligent. But I don't see it! Donaldson calls him on it!

2. The 1000-year argument
is one that has been heavily circulated among the climate change deniers-club. The problem is that the effects and impact are rapidly accelerating. The polar ice-cap is already almost 50% gone, the more of it we lose the less it deflects the suns heat back out into space and faster greenland melts. Gore never stated how long the melting of Greenland might take, but it looks more like it's going to be sooner rather than later.

5. George will is soooo into himself. I have tried to read
his columns over the years and I have come to the conclusion that his life experiences are very narrow. His views on every subject are nothing less than bland and only looked at from a purely political standpoint. Ultimately I believe he is truly dumber than a box of rocks. Who in the world can take him seriously?

6. Confusing the arctic ice cap and Greenland is unfortunate
Two wildly different things.

There are scary runaway effects being predicted: millions of square miles of melting permafrost rotting and releasing cubic miles of methane into the air, loss of reflectivity causing more sunlight to be absorbed, more carbon dioxide is dissolved in cold water so as the oceans heat up that C02 is released. There are some moderating effects though: higher temperatures mean more plankton in the oceans, absorbing vast quantities of C02, dying and sinking to the ocean bottom taking that C02 with them. More plant foliage means more C02 absorption, etc. Life is a great moderator. The problem is man's been interfering over the last few centuries, burning down rain forests, decreasing biodiversity, polluting the oceans. Life's got it's work cut out for it nowdays.

7. Confused maybe,
Edited on Mon Oct-15-07 01:23 AM by FREEWILL56
but not inaccurate either way as both areas are melting and Greenland is apt to melt before the ice cap long before Will's supposed 1000 years, but what does he care 1000 years or 30 years as he won't be around? These kind of people like G. W. (coincidence to another G.W. with a B?) don't give a damn about that stuff as they think only of themselves including the right to take advantage of not only the earth, but people too for their own selfserving goals.
Guess what they'll do if the shit hits the fan soon? Deny, lie, and blame somebody else just like they've always done while acting like they are the victims.

9. I'm proud to have yelled out "go home fascist"
when Will was introduced as being in attendance ( along with then commissioner Fay Vincent) at a Cubs spring training game in about 1991. I wasn't that far from him and he definitely heard it.Not that the pompous little asshole probably gave a damn, but at the time it just seemed like something I had to do.
