I know a lot of tea party folks cause of where I live. They are told the same thing about the occupation just being astroturf and useful idiots. But they are simply folks who have conservative ideals but that are sick of the same things we are with government corruption.

Im saddened to see that rather then considering the possible opening here to something better we would rather be convinced that there is no possible discussion with that which we are TOLD is our enemy.

all other corporatists, but were co-opted completely by 2009, with none of the originals left. Thomas Knapp was the founder, the party was started in Portland, Oregon.

12. Exactly, has anyone actually met one lately. The one's who are left are just

the old, racist windbags who in normal years are called Republicans or Religious Fundies. The Tea Baggers co-opted the anger that was present in the nation, but because they were so despicable, no rational, thoughtful human being wanted to belong. There has been no place to put people's righteous anger until now. AND it was due back in 2008. The TeaBaggers took the stage and the outlet was put off for the last 3 yrs. There is a reason people support this movement. The corruption and the things the wealthy and privelledged have boughten their way out of while the rest of us are paying for it dearly.

Its been past time that people have a place to voice their frustration and distrust of the system that hasn't seen any changes for those at the top, but massive changes for the rest of the country. Just being able to stand up and place our grievances about this destructive path is enough for now. There isn't one person I know, including myself, that hasn't been effected by the top 1% and their boughten lawmakers and judges. Even schools are effected by the money-grubbing class that sees a way to take public tax money for their privatized schemes with a disregard for our next generation that need an education. These wealthy, thanks to Citizen United, have their hands even more wrapped around funding their henchmen and controlling the narrative to the direct harm of the cities, counties, states, and Federal Govt on a whole. I watched the segment on Rachel last night regarding North Carolina. Its infuriating. Their no tax, no progress, politicization of all positions (even non-partisan ones) is harming people directly. And in the end, the people don't blame the ass hats they elected, they are blaming the President. A lot of that blame is because of the news media and their propaganda from again the top 1% who is controlling everything about our lives. My sister in law lives in NC. They have lots of unemployment, no taxes, lives devastated. Yet, her livelihood and family is directly funded by the Public tax payers. Her husband is in the army, her ex-husband is a firefighter, and she herself works for Blue Cross & Blue Shield processing claims for Tri-Care (military insurance group). And yet, she blames Pres. Obama and cannot see that "no taxes" motto really does directly impact her family's finances. She would get it if all the news that is put out there wasn't lies and spin.

In 2010, the culmination between the fake TeaBagging astro-turf and the Citizen's United that allowed record breaking money donations into politics, allowed for many states to turn over control to the Republicans. Instead of "jobs" (their original spin narrative) they moved into power, cut taxes to the wealthy, and then provided the tax cut offsets to directly effect state workers and schools and public infrastructure. Everything is politicized. Nothing is getting done. AND the blame continues to land on Pres. Obama. The man picked the wrong people to advise him. He had a campaign plan that people believed in. Then he dropped it for "bi-partisanship". He lost people because he gave up on our want to change directions. AND Geitner did him no favors with the bankers.

So, its nice to see this push back a year out from the elections. The OWS is allowing the right anger to be directed at the right people. It is allowing people to feel united that they have been screwed. It is allowing people not to bear the brunt of the problems they are facing alone. It is happening to everyone, everywhere. One major message that needs to move past Wall St and around the country is the money in politics and the corruption that abounds because of it. The people running need to be tagged with their donations and who their real bosses are. It may just have the opposite effect this time. Those with big money donations from the top 1% of the country could actually be wearing "smelly clothes" this time.

Its a good start to say, "no more". The 99% are more massive in numbers. We are tired of being played. We want a chance and a future for ourselves, our children, and for our world. Let them shake in their boots. Their systems don't work for most of this planet. Playing by their rules hasn't worked. When we have lost everything, there is no reason to sit at home scared out of our wits. Its time we stand up and make our forefathers proud that we arrested democracy back to the people, rather than let it sit idle with the fascist pigs who would love nothing better than to take us back to the times of Feudalism or direct slavery.
