1. I get that Boehner wants to hold America hostage again, but I don’t think the public will stand for
it.

2) The timing. This is really the main point of contention, and while it’s mostly a process issue, it does have some importance. In Boehner’s plan, the debt limit gets increased in two stages; in Reid’s plan, it increases all at once. Boehner’s second tranche of the debt limit increase is tied to the results of his version of the Catfood Commission; Reid’s is not. That actually has some implications for the Catfood Commission itself. It’s obviously easier to vote down the commission’s recommendations if the full faith and credit of the US government is not on the line.

However, if that’s all we’re talking about here, it just doesn’t seem like that is tenable to hold up an increase in the debt limit and the avoidance of default. I get that Boehner wants to hold America hostage again, but I don’t think the public will stand for it.http://news.firedoglake.com/

2. Well, I hope you are correct but...
Edited on Mon Jul-25-11 03:42 PM by SkyDaddy7
The Right Wing media especially FOX "News" & Talk Radio have a way with convincing the American Public that Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid are all bad...And that they would be better off doing those things on their own. I know I hear it from my brain dead friends all the time!

Regardless of what happens I seriously doubt much blame will land on the Republicans...Watch & see!

Democrats from Pelosi to Obama know this...When they had power they passed center of the line bills & still got blamed for being hardcore Liberals by the voting public!

We are screwed because enough of this country have been brainwashed into not thinking...I know folks don't think this this true but I do. The Republicans are going to take back full control of this country in 2013.

I hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

3. FOX and Friends:
Three teleprompter readers with a combined IQ score of less than three digits.

5. Not less than three "digits"
just less than 3.

In fact, the teleprompter has a larger IQ!

4. It sure is great
that this phony-haired pinnacle of intellect can step in and out of the spotlight whenever he feels like getting his jollies (and consequent promotionals). His bullshit reminds me of when McCain promised at town halls that HE KNEW how to get bin Laden, and he'd share that secret if only they'd put him in the White House. McTrump the Chump. Or is it "McDonald" - cheap, greaasy and tasteless.

8. Remember when tricky Dick
had a "secret" plan to end the war ... too bad he had to resign before he could put it into effect.

9. I actually wouldn't mind having Dick Nixon
to kick around nowdays. Maybe it's just romantic folly, but he pales in comparison to the Conservative crooks we're up against now!
