He's 100% on the money, and this is why I vastly prefer the libertarian wing of the GOP over the neo-cons.

intervene makes him right on this, but for the WRONG reasons. With people like him, no civil rights, no union rights, probably no women's right, no Medicare, Medicaid, ... as the market can take care of everything. Yep, he is better than the neo-cons. For the rich, may be...

Yes, libertarians dont think that the state should intervene on ANYTHING. Thanks, but no thanks. He is no better than the neocons, just wrong on different things.

5. One of my few Favorite Senators, Russ Feingold argued against the PA
Feingold was incredibly courageous and astute on this matter. Unfortanetly no one stood with him in the Senate and he was widely ridiculed in the media. Rand Paul is apparently trying to put forth essentially the same arguement, sort of in a down home folksy kind of way and that's fine with me. Whatever works!

Discussing the fascist piece of legislation known as the Patriot Act, and whether to uphold the sunset clause or extend it, is an extremely important matter.

The question isn't : do we support Rand Paul? The question at hand is: do you support the repeal of the Patriot Act. Damn, I hope everone's answer would be a resounding NO MORE PATRIOT ACT!

Libertarian or not.. he's not a war mongerer

He's for medicare or single payer or not at the end the day he's against more blood on my taxpaying hands
Come on
If Cenk can show some respect to the Pauls then why can't we?

He's against abortion and probably an Ayn Rand fan, but at the end the day I AM SICK AND TIRED OF US KILLING PEOPLE!!!

10. I agree with you
We may disagree on domestic and social issues but when it comes to the wars and civil liberties, I trust him over 90% of the democrats in congress. I was against the Patriot act when W was in office and am still against it.

12. "when it comes to the wars and civil liberties, I trust him over 90% of the democrats in congress"
From Rand Paul's budget:

War funding from 2001 to 2010 has cost the taxpayer $1.109 trillion. That amount doesn’t include the $159 billion that will likely be spent funding the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq for FY2011. The proposal seeks to reduce war funding for FY2011 by $16 billion, in other words to provide $144 billion (President Obama has requested $117 billion for FY2012, $27 billion dollars below our proposed level).

Does that mean you support Paul's budget?

14. I agree. I'm stunned to see people on the left
now supporting war and The Patriot Act and NOT going after War Criminals. Something very strange is going on.

I think having more people who are anti-war, anti-Patriot Act and any other kind of legislation that takes away civil liberties is great and if more Libertarians would run on the right, it would balance things a little.

When I saw that bi-partisan vote on the Patriot Act this week, I wondered what we elected Dems for.

Good for anyone, Paul included, who stand up for civil liberties. There are so few left in either party it seems.

9. Here is the big question
If he is against the wars, and against the voting rights act, and against drug prohibition, and against Medicare, and against civil rights, and against Social Security, and against public housing, and against clean air and water, and against student loans, and against the state doing just about anything in general, then WHAT THE FUCK :wtf: is his ass doing in the government except keeping a chair warm???? At least a Rhode Island Red would lay an egg in the chair once in a while.
